Each color in the Dye system also has 3 different material types, i.e. (Cloth, Leather & Alloy) So that the color properly reflects what type of material is being dyed.
WTF do I care about LoTRO? Stop being such a high and mighty nerd-rager and actually read my post! I said it hasn't been seen in many MMO's, not all of them!
That's exactly why I never liked LoTRO! Because all the players are elitist fanboys who think their so cool because they play LoTRO!!
No, I've been following this game for a few years, so from all the customization that you can do in the game is on a high level, not just in this video.
@Zyphxion CoH is published by NC Soft. Just because it's published by the same company doesn't mean it was developed by the same company. I doubt this dye system will be in the game for anything other than previews and you have to find the dyes your self or craft them. Dyes were a good way to make money in GW1.
@Zyphxion Actually dyes are almost exactly how they are shown in the demo right now, you start with a "pack" of starter colours, and unlock others (for your entire account) as you play the game, they arent shown as physical items in your inventory either, theres more interesting ways for you to spend currency in gw2 then a system like that.
By what I've heard from some of the older con videos, the dyes will be unlockable, only you keep them. This is the literal dye system, you just have to unlock them, rather than constantly having to buy new dyes. Probably the only reason Guild Wars 1 isn't getting this system patched into it is for economy reasons.
@Mormur1234 Nope, the developer responsible for the the dye system said in a blog on the ArenaNet website that you unlock a dye color only once and you can use it whenever you want. It's also account based I believe so if I find dark red on one character, all my other characters can use it too. Though you still have to search for the colors like in the first game.
@Neezma Yeah I was thinking that too. But that's not a bad idea to recycle some ancient designs, they re already good so why should they remove them ? There will be much more different armors so it's not a problem, you'll have many new designs for armors, and think that they can be different for every race.
@MrAnneVailable When I played other classes the pallet was different, like Thief had a darker earthier pallet. So Ele having bright colors might be a thematic thing. But who knows, this is only a demo.
@Zyphxion All colors are available to all professions once you manage to unlock them. Also the colors you unlock become Available to all your characters, so if you unlock a certain Dye you can use it on an alt.
@bRADnaptime well I DIDNT SEE any black in color selection.. And im not sure what color is that which is South east (rightest and downest) sorry my english
@Ganke2 Oh cool :) I just remember a video where alot of people where gathered up in the same place and it just looked a bit like a paint massacre with all these different and piercingly bright colors ;)

@Mormur1234 The dye system in guild wars 2 is infinite uses, not saved as items in your bag or that you buy, and all are account bound.
YamiPoyo 6 months ago
@Mormur1234 You must unlock colourschemes in GW2 rather than buy dyes. How we don't know, but once you unlock one, you can use it infinitly.

@Zyphxion Each class has their own set of beginner colors. YOu can obtain more as you get further in game by drops, buying or completing events.

I like colorful colors, but those seem a big too bright.
I think a bit more decent they would fit very well and still would look great :)
