The Federal Reserve makes it easy for our elective officials to borrow money to "offer" more services without raising taxes. The problem is this borrowed money plus interest causes inflation. Inflation is a hidden tax which most people are misled about.
A point I want to make is people have been misled in so many areas and our whole monetary system is the biggie. We have the Federal Reserve adjusting the interest rate, a plunge protection team manipulating the stock market, and Wall Street fleecing the common folk. The Federal Reserve is pumping trillions into the economy without accountability. The banks have made such complex maneuvers (ponzi schemes) on marketing debt; they are having a hard time tracking down the money trail.
Because of the government's easy credit, it has been on a shopping spree and has fallen into a trap of not knowing how to function without this spending. We are fast approaching
the point where all the IRS appropriated taxes will not even cover the interest on the debt. The bailouts and pork have received a lot of press and people are, rightly so, very upset. But I feel it is important for us to also understand how we got here and the factors which allow government spending to grow so large.
