@SOlsenProduction use a biro, get good ones but not too expensive you will use a lot. shade in a similar way to pencil minus the smudge advantage it has. paper does not matter per say, less than with pencil actually, but naturally a decent weight will make life easier. Standard copy paper works good with pen.

i see a few errors in this drawing.

as a fellow artist, my critiques would be to work on your light source... as u can see, it's everywhere on the drawing. and regarding the finished drawing, to me, it's a bit hard to make out what it looks like.

no problems with your texture though... i'm trying to get that kind of texture into my flower drawings.... my teacher's been bugging me about that...

it is.. the only thing you really need to know how to do is shade from dark to light..just practice lifting the pencil at the right time and you will get it..you don't really need a teacher to learn how to do it..just practice a lot
