I don't believe the books say that vamps feeding on humans is evil, but that it's simply their nature. I think that it poses the question of if you should accept the norm (feeding on humans being "normal" for vamps) or if you should seek a better and more peaceful (such as the Cullens) existence. Something I think anyone can ask themselves.
As for a soul, I think the books beautifully illustrate the concept of love being the souls salvation. I see no reason to think a vamp doesn't have a soul.

Jake makes mistakes, he is easygoing, playfull, romantic, funny, caring, loyal, clever, he LETS bella do what she wants to do, i mean cmon, bella. what were you thinking? in new moon, you should have kissed jacob's bare shoulder and be together forever. who cares about edward. he left, he gets punished.

i think that they do, them killing humans or drinking blodd is a NECESSITY to their existence, they cant help being who they are! i think they have a soul because Edward didnt hurt Bella even though her blood was so demanding for him, he showed emotion and would rather get himself killed then be without her, so they do =)

Yes, because would a souless creature be able to have the amount of compassion that Carlisle has? they all have feelings and emotions. They are capable of loving someone so intesly like Edward loves Bella. If they didn't have souls loving someone so unconditionaly would be impossible.

I believe vampires have souls, because Edward when Bella enquires as to how vampires came into existance in the first book "Twilight" Edward comments that it could be evolution or the creation of god, each species has their own predator and prey. If God did indeed create vampires then they would indeed have a soul. Providing Edwards theory is correct.

I believe that vampires have souls because of the vast amount of feelings and emotions they feel. If vampires don't have souls then the emotions are fake and thus would cause Edward no pain or regret, he would only be acting. Thus vampires have souls.

It is undefined whether vampires have souls or not. Its like 'does God exist?' Nobody knows.
Edward believes they don't because they are eternally dammed 'evil by nature' creatures, and only the living have souls, but they are not technically alive in the sense of the word. But Carlise believes they do have souls, and strongly wants it to be true, because he cannot imagine there not being something out there for 'someone as good and kind as Edward' after 'death'.

People are confusing the word souls with the word feelings. Vampires do not have souls because they are no longer alive. However, they can still feel do to their past life as a human.

I do believe that vampires have souls. I believe that, just like humans, how they choose to live their "lives" will determine whether they go to Heaven or Hell. It wouldn't be fair for them to not be able to go to heaven, because they didn't choose to be vampires but they are living with it the best they can.

I don't believe the books say that vamps feeding on humans is evil, but that it's simply their nature. I think that it poses the question of if you should accept the norm (feeding on humans being "normal" for vamps) or if you should seek a better and more peaceful (such as the Cullens) existence. Something I think anyone can ask themselves.
As for a soul, I think the books beautifully illustrate the concept of love being the souls salvation. I see no reason to think a vamp doesn't have a soul.

some do, some dont. vegetarian vamps do since they have decided to stop hunting humans. normal vamps dont because they hunt humans and sometimes if u remember from the book they feel pleasure when the humans faces look frightened. so, the facial expressions sometimes lead them to making their hunt more painful for their prey, therefore making them seem like they belong in HELL!!!!!!!!

hmmmm... yeah they have a soul... beacuse they feel. If anything in the books is questionable that is not, because Edward's love for Bella is more amazing prove of his soul the way he wants to be a good guy for her, the way he only wants her protected demostrates the only truth behind that question.... and it is that if u feel like that u have a soul and a thousend of millon emotions that are there just hidding somewhere...

i feel that they do still have sould because in order to not have one you have to personally give it away to the devil (evil...what ever word you want to use) and vampires in that case do not willingly give up their souls. I think vampires have souls. A person who loves another has to have a soul. Having feelings means you have a soul. So, vampires love each other and stuff, like mates, so they feel the emotion "love". Besides, when a person is turned into a vampire, the person doesn't lose their soul. They just have physical changes(sparkly :]], pretty, red or gold eyes) and they just crave blood. Some may gain powers, but that doesn't get rid of their soul or anything.... SO vampires DO have souls.

I think vampires do have souls because they can make a choice. They can be GOOD or BAD. Every vampire choses different path to go down and they can fall in love (have mates). Also when Eward leaves Bella in the book I pictured him and how he looked like when he said that and also in the trailer and it looks like what he said CRUSHED his SOUL!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya, I think they have souls.
If they didn't, none of the Cullens would be loving or caring towards Bella. They'd have no emotion. Edward wouldn't feel pained whenever Bella was in danger, and he wouldn't feel protective either. And most of all, he wouldn't love bella the way he would if he didn't have a soul.
Therefore, I am positive that vampires have souls. :)
