  • Goosebumps.................

  • I met Mike, Steve and the rest of the band after a dutch festival in 86 before this number came out...it is a different album then this is the sea...but what a lovable voice...I will cry should Mike leave the music scene!!

  • Not where it comes from or who wrote it but the, big, swollen, breaking heart that it describes - perfectly. Magnificent.

  • This song is incredible on every single level!!!

  • This song is beautiful.

  • Mike has one of the best singing voices I've ever heard in my Life.....and this tune so touches my soul. I dont need toget out the Fisherman Blues album unless I wanna hear this in big stereo...but even on the p.c. it remain's Heartwarming. Well? I wouldnt wanna see or hear Mike cry....so a big sisterlee hug........from Annemarie...

  • One of my favourite songs ever

  • A girl dumped me, and this song was in the 5 disc changer for a year . . .

  • This song is just beautiful. You lose yourself.

  • My Soundtrack to the summer of 93. Hitch-hiking the entire summer around the scots highlands, meeting cool people, getting drunk, staying in cool places, the best walkman money could buy and this in my ears. Not a care in the world. Thanks, Mike Scott !

  • thanks for posting

  • pure beautious lusciousness -- i will cry when ye go away

  • moonmaidens, oh what a lovely name you've chosen. Guess you got a dream catcher above your bed too!!: You do have a fine grasp of the modern english vocabulary! Dickhead, oh that hurts ;-O

Jackyrowe, Traditional Folk music ... from Brighton????? But fair comment, although I do think that there are better examples of traditional british folk music..?

  • @kerouhak oh much much MUCH better examples!! there are tons! dervish, uiscedwr, even people taking it down another road like the peatbog faeries and shooglenifty and salsa celtica and... the list goes on. and as hard as it is to believe, when you or i like it or not, they have managed to originate from brighton and do that! (brighton, of all places! i didn't believe wikipedia when it said that they were from brighton)

  • when that fiddle kicks in dont you just float away

  • @hairychinfinn it's my favourite thing to play on the fiddle!

  • a beautiful song listen to the Levellers and it will give you the same experience goosebumps and inspirations

  • the levellers are one of my favorites!

  • @moonmaidens are you seriously comparing the levellers to the waterboys?????? lol

  • @kerouhak "lol" dickhead, it was menatol who posted that comment not me but yes i agree they can definatly be compared.

  • @moonmaidens i think they can be compared. the levellers have created a modern sound with deep roots in traditional folk music of the british isles. the waterboys have done the same thing, but on a different strand, if you like.

  • @kerouhak see the last comment made, the one by me. i do think they've achieved a similar thing.
