  • this sounds awesome :) Great job!

  • i like how all of the danwright32s are different sizes

  • @amistrymister first time using the green screen ^_^ I was just winging it

  • Nice job man, arranged by Aaron Dale! Originally commissioned for Vocal Spectrum

  • @RamseyKMusic ahh I thought so. Thanks!

  • Did you arrange this? It is incredible! If not, where did you get the score please??? xxxxxxxxxx

  • @CCH1832 I didn't.. I think I got it from a friend if I remember correctly.. but I'm not sure. you can check the bus harmony marketplace

  • @danwright32 Thank you!! xxxxxx

  • @CCH1832 no problem!

  • nice boy, sweet voice, great look - lovely...

  • did the lead and tenor 1 switch sides?

  • @electricswagg33 no, the melody switches from the lead to the tenor part

  • You rock my socks. That is all. =)

  • @Christy1771 thanks so much! feel free to share =]

  • I am not sure about this version, but Michael Bolton arranged the original? If that helps?

  • where do I find one like that!?

  • Do you have a copy of this for a female voice?? I've all ways wanted to do this song. :)

  • @sarbuscus sorry, I don't think it's been arranged for female voice

  • I dropped my phone and my jaw dropped cuz of how awesome this video is.

  • @whiteandtantwins haha thanks! feel free to show your friends

  • This song makes me want to cry because it's so dang beautiful

  • At the end of this vid I was waiting for the applause but then remembered this is just one guy, and he's not on a stage performing. Wow!! Awesome job

  • OMG. My bro just showed me this vid... i can't find my heart cause i think u just stole it...You have an amazing talent and u should keep doing it! I've always wanted to do a vid like that, but i've never gotten around to it... If u don't mind me asking, how'd u do it?

  • @acapellalover15 haha thank you! It's kinda difficult to explain. Basically I just record all the parts separately and layer them in logic pro. daniscool99 has a good tutorial

  • I love it! Amazing!

  • Well done!!! awesome!

  • Needs deeper base. <3 But you've got a pretty voice.

  • @HybridKir haha thanks. I'm certainly no bass

  • @danwright32 Are you not supposed to hear the baritone? Because I'm singing baritone for this exact song and I can hear all the other parts, but I can't pick out the baritone notes while listening to this.

  • @AnbuKakashi321 well it depends, it's probably partially a mixing problem on my part, this one of my first ones so it's not the best. But also, the baritone part is the hardest to hear if you don't know what you're listening for, since it's right in the middle of all the other parts and it's not the melody. If you wanna get a feel for how it really sounds, you should look up vocal spectrum singing it

  • @danwright32 hmmm, okay. thanks dan!

  • @AnbuKakashi321 no problem :)

  • This is straight-up impressive. I loooove the modulations. You do them spectacularly.

  • wow! Amazing range and technique (especially the tone and breath support!)

Do you have sheet music? My barbershop quartet would love to sing this for our graduation ceremony at the end of the year. thank you very much :)

  • Auto tune... Majorly...

  • awesome!!! you have a true talent!!!

  • very impressed. was very moved by your performance! thank you!

  • This just made my day! :)

  • WOW!!! Beautiful!!!!

  • (: Very nicee

  • what kind of mic do you use!?

  • @XRushProductionsX a bluebird mic from blue microphones

  • dude Im going to be doing this song with a couple bros for our concert. any idea where i can get the music. i link or somethin

  • @shmo15 well youtube won't let me post links in the comments. but you can google aaron dale arrangements and get it through him

  • wow you are so amazing!! I would loveeee to sing with you :D

  • These videos are so very helpful dude. You're an excellent singer and the vids are great. Me and some buddies are doing this song for our concert and it's gonna be amazing thanks to you. Props man and thanks soooooo much yet again :)

  • @Heavenlychain91 glad I can help!

  • It's super impressive that you seem to just be doing this by ear, since I don't see any earbuds or headphones. Great ending. And I disagree with frankvdg, I don't think it sounds autotuned to me. You can tell it's your real voice. I also can't say I agree with PandaMan1992 who seemed to imply that you lacked emotion in this. I think you performed the song beautifully, even were the emotion was concerned. You took it seriously, but still smiled a lot. This is a terrific vocal cover of this!

  • @Monker4444 so how do you explain 2:38 ?? It's obvious he's a great singer and I hope he doesn't fix his songs. But if he does I don't get why he is always so explicitly hammering down that he doesn't autotune. Destroys his rep a bit imo. Better to be honest about it...

  • @frankvdg it's because people accuse me of it a lot and I take offense. There's no need for me to use it when I can stay in tune without it

  • @frankvdg Do I need to explain 2:38? It doesn't sound autotuned, and if you watch that clone who is singing that harmony, you can see his mouth and throat stretch to hit the note. It isn't a fabricated note. He actually hits it. And besides, if he used autotune, then this song would be emaculate, would it not? But it isn't. It has flaws. The note climb at 0:53 for "I know every-" is not exactly right. If he would go through the touble of autotuning that other spot, why would he ignore this one?

  • @Monker4444 I don't know! I don't if he autotunes! All I am saying is 2:38 is either autotune (or something alike) or a mixing error putting two parts of the baritone together. And btw, I'm pretty sure the guys you are seeing are playbacking over the music which he recorded before, so that doesn't mean anything.

  • @frankvdg Actually, 0:52 is where that climb is.

  • @Monker4444 thank you very much!

  • I think you are absolutely fabulous, and I adore you. (: haha.

but no joke. keep singing! <3

  • whats going on with the right dude at 2:38 (note going up) ?? Sounds a bit autotuny to me...

  • wheres the emotion?

  • this is awesome, really good job(:

  • You've got an amazing talent for keeping in key. it's very impressive.

  • Impressive

  • beautiful!

  • You and your brothers are pretty good.

  • Nice!

  • congratulations. Nice sound and you'll get better. Bass is overpowering at times. Is this autotune? Love the song and you have some great voice qualities.

  • @mlcbtech thanks! and no, there's no autotune. you should check out my newer videos. I think I have gotten better

  • @mlcbtech If you listen to other groups do it, the bass overpowers similarly. Very nice @danwright32!

  • Dang.. breath support!! That was amazing :) If you ever want to do a duet... let me know! ;)

  • Where did you get the sheet music for this?

  • @iliketoscreamLOUD hmm it's been a while, but if I remember correctly I got this from the barbershop harmony marketplace

  • @danwright32 thank you. i have a Quartet in my choir and we want to do this song. And this is just... too good xD Great job btw.

  • Really enjoyed it Dan :)

  • Dude, these videos are amazing! Our college choir just sang Tonight and you video helped me practice.. Great job!

  • @MistrFB0MB glad I could help!

  • One word: EPIC. I wish I could sing like that. My friends and I botched Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" on karaoke today at school...

  • very good! all i can say is that you sound a little whiney some of the top full voice notes. but i give you credit for singing them at least because i sure can't :D

  • Why does it LOOP?

  • @Konnorshi hmm no idea. thats odd

  • Great - I love these. Just wondering - do you record one track, then sing the other parts against that, to be sure they're all in sync. You must need 2 computers (or other more complicated tech - I know nothing about this stuff)? It looks like a fun - but time intensive - project! :-)

    Keep up the good work!

  • @shanipan yup! On most videos I start with the Lead and then record the other tracks over it (some I'll start with the bass). and nope, 1 computer. I use an audio editing software called Logic Pro and I have a mic that connects into my computer. @daniscool99 made a really nice video about how to do it

  • What program did you use to edit this?

  • @Sammytammy101 I use final cut pro for video and logic pro for audio

  • did he add an extra verse?

  • Was the crescendo at around 2:50 made by using your voice, or did you edit the sound a bit? Great multitrack, though.

  • @AscendantMayhem nope, thats just me :)

  • How much for the learning tracks¿

  • I'm looking for a way to get all the parts separately so I and 3 friends can do this for our talent show at school. Anybody know how I can do that¿ :) I'd really appreciate it!

  • @Heavenlychain91 the only way to do that is to buy learning tracks or to find someone who already has the learning tracks. I sell them if you're interested

  • he should be on disney channel next big thing

  • Did you get this from the GNU?

  • @MrOopsipwnedu no, whats that? I transcribed it from Vocal Spectrum's recording

  • i really like the ones where it's more barbershop quartet style. like this. where it focuses more on bass, baritone, tenor 1, tenor 2. rather than including alto and soprano. it just has a warmer sound.

  • bravo bravo!

  • i would LOVE to be able to do this, but i have horrible timing! Dude, you did good.

  • I have a question - How high CAN You sing? I'm not going for a competition or anything, just wondering.

  • @Konnorshi ummm not including falsetto… I've touched at a Soprano high F once, but the highest I can get while staying in a comfortable range on an everyday basis would be a Tenor high A. Obviously I've gone higher, like in the muppets song, but anything above an A just isn't in a comfortable spot for me, and i stay away if I have the option (usually). In falsetto, on my best day day I've got maybe a quarter-tone or a half step above what I hit in good vibrations, which is a Soprano high D

  • @danwright32 Hmmm... My highest note is a D6 (Not sure if they are the same) and my lowest (Which I think I also wanted to know but forgot to add) is an E2 On the best of days, I have literally gone all the way up to a G6, but average days is D6 I don't know what these are in comparison, but yeah :3

  • @Konnorshi ahh I'm not very good with the number notation of notes… so I'm not really sure what notes those are… sorry

  • @danwright32 Find the lowest C on your Piano, that is C1 The next C to the right is C2 and so on.

We have opposite problems here, I'm good with the number notation. ><

  • @Konnorshi oh haha well ok

  • sheet music plz

    where can i find it?^_^

  • @musicmaniak98 I believe you can buy it from the arranger (I think it's aaron dale, but don't quote me on that)

  • @musicmaniak98 I believe you can buy it from the arranger (I think it's aaron dale, but don't quote me on that)

  • @musicmaniak98 yes its aaron dale, but if you want i could email it to you because i have it. just message me if u want it

  • @muffinman314 hey by any chance can you email it to me too?? ill just give you my email:D

  • This is amazing! The onlt thing I noticed was a couple rhythmical errors, but haveing performed this I can fully understand why those may have been there. Also, it seems to drag a bit at parts due to tempo. My only other suggestion would be to have the melody stand out a more and not directly blend with the harmonies. This was beautifully performed though, and if the opportunity arises I'd love to sing with you.

Sorry if i'm being critical. haha School does that to you.

  • Hi sir dan.. i really love your voice.. you're so talented..your voice is natural.. I've listened to it a thousand times.. can't wait to hear more..^_^

  • Sheet music??!? :O please! That would be amazing!

  • I've heard Danny Fong's version of this and it's good, but you don't seem to use any equipment. YOU SOUND SO DARN GOOD!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!! :)

  • @KNDnbh thank you! I actually am using equipment. I'm singing into a bluebird mic through an apogee pre-amp. and I'm standing in front of a green screen for audio :)

I'm glad you like it though

  • @danwright32 I mean that you don't use autotune gear. But yeah, it does sound REALLY GOOD. I have a song for you sing and you can find one video of it on youtube. It's called Hey Little Baby O' Mine. I sang that myself in my high school choir as a tenor one. Yeah, I can sing pretty high too. Not as high as you can in Good Vibrations though, That was INCREDIBLE! :D

  • @KNDnbh haha thanks! and yeah I don't autotune. I'll take a look at that song

  • @danwright32 You don't autotune ? Please be honest... god.. that's so obvious at 2:38 (baritone slide) . But it sounds great ;) , just you had to be honest.

  • @danwright32 Either way, you should be proud. You're very talented. I need to learn how to mix this kind of stuff. This is wicked cool.

  • That was incredible! The melody line was a bit soft at first, but wow. Love this arrangment.

  • @kickawesome thank you! this was when I was first starting so I made the mistake of mixing it while listening with headphones… and everything got a little messed up. but I love this arrangement too :)

  • great job dan -tom R.

  • cant tell you how many times ive posted this on my fb lol

  • @scotlandtehbrave thank you! I love it when people show their friends my videos

  • OK. That was just outstanding. Unbelievable range and dynamics. Just GREAT!

  • thats the softest post I've ever heard, and it's actually really impressive

  • i actually saw this video in my chorus class and have since spent forever looking for it because i loved it so much!!! i have been just repeating and repeating it! fantastic job!!

  • @mari2497 thank you very much! it would mean a lot to me if you would show it to your friends :)

  • i actually like this better than the original! last 45 second you really delivered it. you gave me that blood rush i get when a song has that one moment of glory. absolutely amazing.

  • @scotlandtehbrave thank you very much!

  • Can you put up an mp3 of this to download?

  • You`re super talented! Love this song and you make it sound awesome! Keep singing and making music!!! You`re amazing!!! xx

  • @Serayrayy thanks =]

  • This sounds like church! Its like 50 years ago but its beautiful! :)

  • This is one of my favorite songs en your sound is really good. Keep up the work, man!

  • you, sir, are adorable and very talented. (:

    i looovelovelove a capella music.

  • @JaimeRaeLovee why thank you :) I enjoy it too

  • @danwright32 are you planning on putting anything else up, soon? (:

  • @JaimeRaeLovee of course :)

I've got another choral video in the works as well as another barbershop video. there's also been talks with some other youtubers about possibly doing a collab video soon :)

but right now my main focus is the new barbershop video, and my audition for the youtube chorus harmonium :D

  • @danwright32 awesome! i was thinking about posting some solo vids of just me, but i'm too self-conscious... :x

i really look forward to seeing those videos, though. (:

    good luck on them!

  • @JaimeRaeLovee you should totally do it! I'll watch them :)

  • @danwright32 aw, fo'reals? i'd feel really speciallll. :x

  • This is a nice multitrack recording. I like how you manage to nail the range needed for all the tracks and the green screen effect is a nice gimmick.

Some constructive criticism: The blending between the tracks could be improved. Adding a little bit of reverb and using the usual Barbershop setup---from left to right: tenor, lead, bass, baritone---could help. Furthermore, the bass seems too loud in your recording. The relative volumes should be lead~=bass>baritone>tenor.

    Keep multitracking!

  • @Partyburner Thanks a lot!

I'll work on the blending next video. As for the set up... I set it up this way because when the melody switches from lead to tenor I had the tenor step up and the lead step back, and the only way to make it not look silly was to have them at opposite sides

  • 993 views atleast 200 views was from me not joking

  • Really great job kid! Keep going and we're sure to see you on the international stage someday.

  • @rarchnick lets hope so :)

  • Very cool!!

  • hey where do you get your notes to sing off of?

  • @PoMilostiEvo I have sheet music for al my songs that I either purchased, transcribed, or traded for

  • Sounds good in terms of pitch, but it doesn't feel real to me. A lot of parts sound very electronic to me which lead me to believe there has been alterations to the pitch. It doesn't sound to me like 4 people singing anymore. I don't feel any natural vibrato either. If you didn't use any pitch correction I'd like to take a look at your Logic session and see if there's something weird you did editing it.

Don't let me discourage you, I'm just being honest with what I heard.

    D

  • @daniscool99 it wont let me post my whole comment so I"m gonna message you. but there's definitely no pitch correction

  • @danwright32 Cool. Also be careful of your balance.. listen to the first verse.. the bass is louder than the lead and I can barely make out the lyrics!

  • @daniscool99 thats youtube's issue. the balance sounds perfect when I listen to the file I have on my computer

  • @daniscool99 email me the .wav? an mp3 will even work

  • @daniscool99 of the whole mix?

  • @danwright32 Assuming that's all you have left..

  • @daniscool99 yeah it is, I'll send it now

  • Best yet Dan! Keep it up!

  • @CSMParadise thanks Julia!

  • Aaahhhhh!!!!! Great friggen job! Your best yet

  • @kiratheburd thanks Kira!

  • You held that high note for 22 seconds at the end !!!!! I would have been impressed if you held it for 15 seconds. And you didn't waver either.

This is what I call Talent!

  • I heard overtones so many times during the 3 and half minutes!

  • @abuckajaga :) so you think this is my best one?

  • @danwright32 Definitely ;-) And the videoclip is also the best of your multitracks.

  • @abuckajaga thanks! and I finally got a green screen so I wanted to make this one as good as possible

  • Strangley, although I know there is only one of you, I am brainwashed into thinking otherwise. How long will it be till you become a large choir?!

That must take you ages to do, even learning each part of the music.

Also what a pair of lungs you have! Simply amazing :-)

  • @goodchappy thank you. I really want to do an eric whitacre piece.. but I really don't have the patience to record more than 1 of myself on each part. I think it'd be cool to create a mini version of his virtual choir though

  • Dude. You rock! My friends & I think you're just awesome. Keep up the great work!
