Thanks for the reply, it made me feel good that I got this MAGPUL CTR for 40 buck with all thr true fitting that a real not a airsoft stock would have. Thanks again..
@africanfish2001 Well the airsoft Magpul stock doesn't have the extra locking mechanism located at the front of the stock. That extra lock really helps secure the stock when firing real weapons with real recoil. Airsoft rifles don't need that extra lock. The only difference is one is going to be more secure than the other.
Just some advice, to install the CTR stock because using your fingers hurt like hell.. but another way to do it is get a flat head and wiggle it between the pin and the adjuster and just move it down, and slide (the stock on or off). much more easy and does not hurt.
I initially bought the MOE but sent it back immediately upon experiencing the "wiggle". Returned it to DSG arms, who were great, and now I have the CTR. NIGHT and day re. Movement.
Is the only was to tell between a mil-spec and commercial if it has an angle on the end of the tube? I know they are different in diameter, but that is hard to tell with the naked eye.
@ThaBR33D Well the Mil-Spec buffer tube is smaller in diameter and yes some commercial buffer tubes have a slanted end. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. The best thing to do is just ask, most sellers will tell you the truth.
@MustyYetisTacticalHQ thanks. I'm getting a m&p 15 soon(if buds will ever process the damn thing) , so I'll just take a look at the tube and try to find out which one I have.. Probably commercial.
@cokeman2423 Yeah dude it's a commercial stock, I didn't and don't need a Mil-Spec buffer tube and stock... The commercial does just fine, I haven't had any issues what so ever the few times I've actually shot my AR. Maybe down the road I'll pick up a Spikes Tactical Mil-Spec buffer tube, but that will be way later when I'm bored and feel like spending money on the AR again.
@MrGunAddiction Well said GunAddiction. I do not have one complaint with my CTR stock. Plus there are extras you can get to make them fit you better... A thicker buttpad for added comfort and a cheek raiser to help with your site alignment. Just an all around great piece. The winners have been chosen, I uploaded a video right after this one... Check it out.
@semiautoriflelover That's really good thinking. The CTR stock has such a good fit I haven't even had to think of ways to make it fit better. Well done on the ingenuity.
@MustyYetisTacticalHQ I worked at a bowling alley before and if the ball didn't fit you thumb you placed a tab inside and that is what I used on my stock. Worked great. You just have to get the thickness correct.
this is why I love you tube ... ask and you shall receive. M.Y.T.H. this just shows that you are a quality individual if you are willing to make a short video for one subscriber. Good job man keep em coming
@trenttyre Thanks a lot Trent. I have absolutely no problem doing small videos for people if I have the equipment and parts to do so. I can't exactly do a review on an AK47, YET!!! Hopefully that will be soon.
@Africanfish if you got a ctr for $40 it's most likely a fake knock off

@riverrutt The MOE buttstock doesn't have the extra lock to secure it to the buffer tube.

@MustyYetisTacticalHQ How well is the friction lock held in place? From the video it looks like it wouldn't take much to disengage it.

When I had a standard MOE stock I put a slice of tape up inside and it stopped the wiggle.
