  • @TylerTakacsIsAwesome It isn't "strict form" but he is doing this to go past failure. He cheats a little to get the dumbbell up and work the negative portion of the movement, the downward bit. This hits the maximum amount of fibers. Have a go!

  • @helloogoodbyee and as you train to get the 8th rep etc. im getting the 20th. And hey my doc writes me a legal script. Im not saying anyone who isnt an adult should take them. Steroids are a tool to become bigger then its humanly possible naturally. You will hit a natural plateau, and without some sort of therapy either gh, insulin or some type of anabolic you will get left in the dust.

  • Here is a real workout for beginners.

    - 20 minute jog

    - 300 situp and core

    - Stretch legs and body. Work on hip flexors

    - Start your lifting: Example:

    - Bicep days - After each set do a drop set with a lighter weight then add 10 pushups, 10 squats with medicine ball, 10 burpees with medicine ball, 10 lat pull ups. Then rest for 60 seconds. Do this 5x over.

    Cardio first, Core, squats, pushups and pull ups every workout. Vary the type of exercise and tempo.

  • Basic lifting in the gym will do nothing and you will find yourself struggling to achieve your goals year after year. You will spend a lot of money buying into the hype.  You may even consider steroids because you're so frustrated. First you have to understand why you're at the gym. Internal health before external looks. If you cannot jog a few miles then you're out of shape. My idea of fitness is always to be fight fit. Not muscle head fit. Big muscles are useless if you cannot move.

    I would rather be conditioned to fight and take a pounding rather than lift 300 pounds on my chest.

  • People this sort of lifting has very little application. Unless you're planning to stick yourself and compete in body building competitions save yourself a lot time and money and try something a bit harder.

    Try MMA conditioning, plyometrics, metabolic workouts, etc.

    I recently added 60 minutes of hard cardio aerobic and anaerobic conditioning prior to my mma conditioning and metabolic workout. Ya I'm smaller in size and cannot lift as heavy. But I can strike, grapple and fight for a long time.

  • A fit body is not represented by external looks. Bros one of the most important muscles is the heart. But you need to work those lungs, diaphragm, core, etc... Get the entire body pumping, bust those lungs and stomp those feet. If someone cannot run a few miles then big muscles are not going to help anyone. A few miles is nothing really. By the way take a look at Mike Tyson's training videos or any of the great boxers. They seem to do well.

  • I dunno about that I'm fight fit at 6'1 and 203Ibs. I admit I'm not that strong though. Example my bench is weak only lifting 100lb dumb bells.

    But First 60 minute aerobic/anaerobic workout or until I have nothing left then I start lifting.

    1st set of 5: (1 set = 35 reps)

    starting with dumb bells.  Moving to chest pumps, flies, explosive pushups, etc..

    Then many squats, burpees and lateral raises 1 set complete.

    500 core/situps.

    Btw.. 3x week I will do Muay-Thai or MMA first.

  • The only problem with my workout is that you don't get that pump feeling you would if you did zero aerobic/anaerobic. You are completely exhausted, throat is a little rough, diagram and lungs hurt. You feel like you have a hole through the middle of your body. Once in awhile it makes you puke.

    It is tough to make strength gains, but my stamina and endurance is good - Not great. I need to step it up a few levels. Like doing Muay-Thai for 3 hours and then hitting the gym.

  • you would be catabolic.. theres too much cardio in thai boxing to maintain muscle mass you would have to chug a shitload of food to stay full..

    im guessing you would look pretty flat but you would be lean.. sorta like an olympic runner hahaha

  • Muay-Thai is mostly Anaerobic take a look at boxers and not runners.

    Take a look at heavy K-1 fighters, MMA, or whatever.

    But hey my workout, Thai boxing, MMA is not for the faint of heart. But it will make a man out of you.

  • I guess it depends on how you train and what you eat. For ex. if you add extra proteins and spend money on supplements. If you're new, like me.. you could easily win few cm. From 30cm to 40cm takes less than a year.
