everytime i see a tribute to the troops it makes me see how much my tour in afghanistan ment to the country of canada and shows that i am a national hero
@mrcanadiansoldier I'm so glad that this tribute is still being viewed, and especially by a member of our Military. Thank you, not only for your comment, but for doing what you do. Our Canadian soldiers have a wonderful reputation as peacekeepers and although the general public would rather see them in that role again, they have and continue to prove themselves in the theatre of war, just as our ancestors did. Our thanks is never enough. ~~ Lynn
great video man its so easy for so many people to forget the past heros and even todays heros that are fighting right now and we all need a reminder of them all i know ill never forget every soldier that has went and put there lifes on the line for us great video man RIP heros of canada
Lynn... Fantastic video!!! My grdad WW1 and dad WW11 both. I have pics of them in uniform. My dad had wartime souvenirs and sadly gave them all away to a boy I no longer am in touch with. Breaks my heart... Dad is still alive & well at 87 and his war stories have been a big part of growing up in our house. He is a grump now (maybe always was) and war left him scarred both emotionally as well a physically. I hate war!!!
Thanks Bonnie. This one is very special to me. You are very fortunate that your Dad shared his war stories with you. I hope someone has written some of them down to share with future generations. I know very little of either Grandfathers' military lives, so I'm envious. I hate war too, but so admire the dedication of those who fought before and are fighting now.
Very touching video. To all our Canadian Forces past and present I guess the only fitting thing to say is Thank You if it was not for the brave men and women serving in the armed forces Canada would not be what it is today.
You are very welcome, but it is I who should be thanking you for all you do, not only for Canada, but for people all over the world. Stay safe. ~~ Lynn
i dont disagree with you...i do believe that they should be remembered, as a royal canadian army cadet and who has had their greatgreat grandfather and gradfather fight for canada, i know...
just that the music and stuff doesnt mix if you know what i mean... :)
This one still chokes me up. Both of my Grandfathers are pictured within, as is my Mother, at the train station, saying goodbye to her Daddy for 5 years. Poor TJ - I numbered the photos and sent him the specific order and pan and zoom nstructions, but we were both pleased with the results. Thanks for watching, and your timeless comment Doug. ~~ Lynn
What happened to STONEWALLSTUDIOS' videos on Youtube? I miss Joan Baez's THE NIGHT THEY DROVE OL' DIXIE DOWN. He addded a haunting train whistle at the beginning that just made the song complete.
Loved it. Thank you, my grandfather's battle was right where Vimy Ridge stands today. His four son's followed him joining in WW2. He lost one son just day's before VICTORY. His Grandson's fought in Korea. Really appreciated it.
My paternal Grandfather (1:28) enlisted early in WW1, returned at the end of the war, and enlisted in the Veteran's Guard in WW2. My maternal Grandfather (in both pics immediately after, and pictured with my 4-year old Mother) served overseas in WW2. A cousin retired last year after returning from Afghanistan. We owe them all our remembrances. Thanks for your family's service, and for watching and commenting. ~~ Lynn
Thank you for watching it. Canadians have a lot to learn about honouring and recognizing our military. It's too bad it takes the loss of lives to bring it to the forefront. My aim was to get the message out there with the song as the hook. ~~ Lynn
It was the lyric "You can take my breath away. I can be your hero." that led to this -- with Canada's breath-taking beauty and our military "heros". Thanks again. ~~ Lynn
892snowyowl, if you are a supporter of our Military, you'll probably like my Instrument of Peace video too. Thanks for watching and your great comment. ~~ Lynn
Thank you so much for your comment. It means a great deal to me to hear positive feedback from the men and women that this video is all about. And more importantly, thank you for what you do for all of us. God bless. ~~ Lynn
This is absolutely amazing. We owe alot to our troops. May we never forget the price that was paid for our freedom. I think of my grandfather, my uncle and my cousin when I see this pictures. Lynn thanks for your hard work in putting this together.
Thank you so much LibertyForAll37! I'm glad you enjoyed it. My Grandfather who served in both WW1 and WW2 is at 1:28 and my WW2 Grandfather is at 1:50 as well as a few pics before that. ~~ Lynn
It seems that, in a world full of blackberry's, X-boxes, BMW's, 3,500 sq-ft homes in gated communities, dinner parties with "the right" people and 401K's...
-that people have forgotten, that FREEDOM...isn't free.
Thank you Prometheus. I'm sure you'd appreciate the quote I used at the opening of Instrument of Peace, which is sadly out of date with 10 more names of the fallen to be added. I do what I can to ensure that we never forget... ~~ Lynn
Thank you Shandi! Both of my grandfathers are pictured in this video -- one served in WW2 and the other in both WW1 and WW2. My mother is the little girl with her father. This one was a labour of love. ~~ Lynn
If you are looking for a video for a Remembrance Day service, I'd be pleased to provide a copy. Message me here or email me at springy2003 at hotmail dot com. Thank you. ~~ Lynn
Thank you Tasha. Some of the soldiers are family members (the little girl is my Mother), so it's very special to me. I'll be checking out your channel -- looks like lots of interesting videos there. ~~ Lynn
Another beautiful video done by this lady. Such talent she has.
It's quality, photos, and the video all are great with the song.
To all the hero's out there may God Bless You...Thanks for sharing

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them.
