@r3ds0x616 They've been skiing for the majority of the winter season for years and years. I don't believe they do anything different, they just learn by trying new things. I've seen them use a trampoline or a diving board to hone flips and spins, but other than that there are no special "training" programs they utilize.

nope unless you over/undershoot then you get broken ankles!

Exactly. Jumps are (usually) designed to be perfect for landing. What I mean is the angles are designed correctly so that when you land it really doesn't matter how far or high you've traveled. Thusly, SkiingBK is right. Unless you travel too far or too short through the air, if you reach the landing you should be fine. Physics allow you to land safely, so don't be afraid. Just watch how fast others go in order to make the landing and make sure you go that fast.
