  • All laid out on its places...

  • After watching Horowitz play this Polonaise opus 44 it is very painful to hear or watch anybody else, except Josef Hofmann. Not even Volodos comes close although he too is a genius.

  • CHOPIN et SCHUMANN ont écrit pour HOROWITZ, voilà la preuve;

  • There is a Naxos CD entitled: Welte-Mignon Piano Rolls Vol.1 (1905-1927) where young Josef Hofmann plays this Polonaise, (excellent sound too) and the performance is uncannily similar to this one by Horowitz.The germans perfected the piano roll recording process but their secret techniques were all destroyed during the war.Nobody else even comes close to Horowitz in this piece which I have been trying to learn for almost half a century..

  • This kind of pianism is transcendental and borders on being superhuman.I am infinitely grateful to olyv1 for making this historic concert avalailable so that any serious piano student could watch the greatest pianist that ever lived.
