  • Sounds fine, did I miss BP? Usually for me it's orientation and visual focus, then BP which includes peripheral pulse, respiration rate, heart rhythm, skin turgor and a thermometer in the mouth noting dental hygiene and general state of the mouth and teeth. Lung sounds next with apical pulse, then bowel, check the legs and feet for care pedal pulse and CSM and that's a fair quickie.

  • PERRLA?

  • I really loved this. You should consider making a CD

  • no heart sounds? could be the most important part of assessment, especially in older patients!

  • missed heart and bowel sounds...other than that loved it..

  • @life6391 Well, it is rapid after all...

  • @life6391 And bowel sounds are included in the abdomen look, listen, feel part. I just included the AP in the heart sounds because of the rapid nature of the assessment. :)

  • he said look listen feel and he said AP. That is your abdominal sounds and AP is your heart.

  • This is good, great, awesome!!!! Thanks

  • bahahaha!!!! looks like im good to go on skills check-offs next week!!

  • WOW, i have heard it x2 and already can sing it. Add PEARL and S1 S2 and this is more than an acute assessment. Im thinking more to a tune is a great idea, so how about electrolytes???

  • missed heart sounds! loved it tho!

  • You forgot PERRLA! Haha, no, fantastic job!<3 I'll definitely have to share this with my classmates.

  • oh this is so awesome! i wish i knew about this song when i started nursing school hahaha omg this song would be a perfect nursing school talent show act :D

  • LOL! Ahh, I just did my head to toe assessment today! Awesome! :D

  • APPLAUSE!! WHEEOOOT!!

  • This is great! do you still have the chords for it? I'd love to learn it! :D If I play it myself I'll remember it better.

  • I'll try to figure them out for you. I don't know how to write them except on tabs. It's super easy, but I just don't know how I should represent it to you. I will get back to you soon.

  • Hm. Well that's ok. I could probably figure it out myself! I play a uke so guitar tabs are not especially helpful to me.

  • @gatemarzipan I'm a horrible person. Here are the chords... Am7, E6, D7, Dm7 I'm sorry it took so long!

  • @z0mbieninja lol thanks!!!

I've mostly got it down now...but this'll still help. :P

  • write the lyrics on the sidebar...

  • Thanks for the suggestion. I never actually thought of doing that. :D

  • thx 4 the song i have a test on it soon

for my high school nsg program

  • Hope that it helps!

  • Thanks for the song, it sort of brought my stress level down a little. I'm performing my final head to toe on Tuesday... I'll definitely remember when I'm actually doing the test . ^_^

  • I wish you all success during this semester!

  • someone kill it before it gets to the children. lol

  • I think it might be too late for that... :D

  • what sucks is that if you dont know how to do this your clinical instructor will fail you. You know you did a good job if you can do all of it in less than 5mins.

  • Yeah. I remember my first examination of this stuff. **shudder** So nerve-racking.

  • Thanks for all your comments everyone! If this actually helps anyone, it will make me happy. I had a lot of fun making it for an assignment. Good luck with school!

  • I have clinicals w/ a new instructor tomorrow & don't want to miss anything! Hopefully this helps, thanks!

  • MAY 2010 RN2B God Willing! Thanks for the song.. I have check offs tomorrow and I'm Stressed!!!

  • haha! that was a beautiful song. but i wished u had a longer version of the full health assessment! *round of applause*

  • Sorry about the long time replying. Thanks! Maybe I'll make some more songs some day.

  • Seriously funny - will have this playing in my head in clinical!

  • I still have it playing in my head sometimes. Sad how many nurses *don't* do this.

  • well sometimes depending on what feild of nursng you go into this is already done for you. Where i work when you get a new admit. you look over the skin for any abnormal findings. I know how to check the EOMs and things like homans reflex and barbinskies and all that stuff but it is one of those things that is almost alwasys in the chart. You are right though it is sad that many nurses either dont do it or dont know how to do it.

  • You have such a nice voice & are very creative. Thanks for sharing!

    RN in May 2010

  • Hooray for class of May 2010! I'll be graduating then too. Good luck in school!

  • Yay for 2010!! my head-to-toe is tuesday! this better help me pass or i'm hunting u down :P!

  • No one has found me yet, so I guess it helped???

  • yay. I like this song.

  • Seriously could not stop laughing!

    Awesome song!

  • :) love your voice - great job!

    - another nursing student

  • cute

    good voice

did u pass the exams with this? lol

  • Thanks! The original is much better quality. Actually it's funny because it DID help me to pass. I made it as a joke and part of an assignment, but it ended up actually helping me. Are you in nursing school?
