i rember all these classic tunes from LWR well i should do lol i used to do the early hours night testing show on a friday when the transmitter was put up in the first year of lwr pete davis was my name i also had the mailing adress in sutton my parents house i would sometimes go out with marcus we would go to a couple of phone boxs ring back studio then wait for the phones to ring with your requests at the time was in sydnham john d was the engineir and johnny h was the front man at the time
@boogiel01 yes the very early days of lwr either 1981 or 1982 if my memorey serves me correctly i was only 15 or 16 years old at the time so getting a shot live on air in the early hours through testing at my age was great but i rember them well , most djs where either from JFM or LWR as JFM was allready out there and LWR was in its very early days i worked on hospital radio in banstead surrey and thats how i got into LWR chance meeting with Johnny H but yes good times :)
@boogiel01 cheers m8. Much appreciated. Had a crapy copy I recorded on radio some 10yrs ago. Now I have a perfect mp3 copy. thank you soooooo much!!! Also looking for one with the following lyrics "why won't you do me right - why won't you spent the night......" Thanx in advance.
Those were the days. I never cared about having good music in the car as long as I could get LWR. Their music was so funky and all my tapes were acid house and LWR
Anyone remember that LWR Jingle with the two kids singing ... "LWR you´re tuned to LWR" ....
Sweeeet mate now you see there is your uber ringtone right there, that mate is the shit. Yep i definitely remember the the Jacking Zone with Jazzy M. It was like having a night club in your Car
I remember Westwoods electro show on wednesdays after school .I'd never heard anything like it . The jingle at the start brings a shiver down the spine (signal to unpause record on the tape)
Yeah remember that too,Ive still got a couple of TDK,s here somewhere (recorded about a month apart).. with Doug-E-Fresh the show STILL at No 1.That tune was there was there for ages lol
Used to pick it up in watford and tuned in all the time. Got the tapes somehwere. Westwood, Zack and daddy ernie lol. Cant remember the DJ but could be Ron, he used to do the hiphop and soul mixes, dope. The lady who used to play late night rare grooves on TKO, memories.
Please help me replace an old 12inch i used to own. I really can't recall the exact name. I can tell you it was used by the radio station LWR back in the 1985 - 87. The theme tune L.......WR ....92.5...FM.
I owned the 12 inch i bought it about 1985 i remember i was a boot leg, yellow label it was like a drawing done by hand on the label. I keep thinking it was by Lonnie Liston Smith i am sure it was that or Lonnie Smith. Its definatley jazz funk type instrumental

The old Jingles I remember them...... cueing them up after a very slow 3 2 1 then remembering either fade out or press pause!
I did drive from July to October in 1984 following Westwood who was doing an afternoon show at that time.
The memories................... thanks guys
