Hell doctrine is pagan influences inherited by Rome who later mixed it with scripture after Constantine converted the empire with the stroke of a pen. Christ was talking about people not entering the millennial kingdom who held the truth in unrighteousness. One day all will acknowledge Yahshua is the author of eternal salvation and every knee shall bow and every tongue confess it and all who confess are redeemed for it is not the will of God that any should perish and God's will be done. Amen
Mt. 25:31-46 "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left... Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels..
Everlasting=aionios, from where eon derives. The fire is age-lasting.
Young's Literal: ..Go ye from me, the cursed, to the fire, the age-during, that hath been prepared for the Devil and his messengers
Wages of sin is death not never-ending agony or Christ would still be suffering. ALL will be redeemed in their own time: And when ALL things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put ALL things under him, that God may be ALL in ALL. -1Cor.15.28
The wages of sin is physical death: I Cor. 11:19-34. ("asleep" means they died physically ( I Cor.15:18, etc.). In I Cor. 15 Apostle Paul is speaking about the resurrection and God the Father being in all of Jesus actions & decisions. In verse 23 Paul makes it clear that the only ones resurrected to salvation are those that are "...Christ's at his coming". Mt. 25:46 "..everlasting punishment" and Luke 18:30 use the same word for "everlasting" "aionios".
In John 10:27,28 Jesus makes it clear that only Jesus' "sheep" do not perish. Throughout scripture it is totally clear to any objective seeker, that if you have heard of Jesus name, you have to make a decision before physical death, as to whether you want to be one of His "sheep". As Jesus said, you don't want to die in your "sins" (Jn. 8:21, 24). Mt.25:46 says "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire,.... This would be meaningless if you die and then soon after get eternal life anyhow.
Jesus does not give useless warnings about "everlasting life" versus "everlasting damnation" and you better not "die in your sins" (Jn.8:21,24) unless the warnings have meaning. Everlasting (aionios) life and everlasting (aionios) punishment are worlds apart. Everyone doesn't end up with everlasting "life" unfortunately. We get to make our choice in our first physical life on earth. "..it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement" (Hebrews 9:27). You twist scriptures.
It only sounds twisted b/c we've inherited so much Romanism even in Protestant bibles. Have you studied all the diverse words bibles like KJV arbitrarily render as hell? This false teaching is clouding pure doctrine of God & the true nature of our destiny and our inheritance.
Warnings were to escape judgement & rule in Christ's kingdom. You mock idea sinners will one day have life, yet turn around and say they live forever in anguish? That's the hell doctrine and it's straight from "hell."
"Jesus makes it clear that only Jesus' "sheep" do not perish" Yes, and those who are his confess he is Lord and bow to him, which is exactly what everyone will do one day as made abundantly clear in Is.45.23, Rom.14.11, Phil 2.10.
Why will you begrudge the heathen salvation as did the Jews toward the Gentiles? I see many Christians falling into the same false sense of pride the Pharisees did, making the word of God to no effect by their traditions.
I'm not twisting, aionios simply isn't eternity, same with olam. You insert words like "actions & decisions" to important, plainly stated doctrine.
Eternal hellfire is NOT the penalty of sin (Rom6.23). Anyone who says otherwise is perverting the plain truth.
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of ALL men, SPECIALLY of those that believe. -1Tim4.10
[Christ] gave himself a ransom FOR ALL, to be testified IN DUE TIME. -1Tim2.6
1Cor15.28 doesn't mean the Father is only in Christ's "actions & decisions." It says "all things," then he himself is under the Father. V.25,26 plainly states Christ subdues ALL enemies & death is defeated (cf. Rev20.14) which leaves life. Those of the 2nd resurrection must be judged, yet they have already died physically but have not confessed Christ as they must. The nonbiblical hell doctrine is from enemies of God, why else are we forced to read twisted garbage like Dante's Inferno at school.

Age-lasting judgment isn't "meaningless"

The warning from Jesus about hell would be meaningless. Of course "age lasting" has great meaning. You continue to twist scripture and others words.
