Mirage 2000 is actually quite capable in a dogfight. However, the delta wing is not that suited for high speed tree top penetration. Also, it requires a relatively long take off run as all delta wings without forward canards do. The reason is one of physics. For rotation to happen, non-canard (assuming movable) deltas actually apply down force to ultimately get the nose up when accelerating on the runway. With canards, it would simply lift the nose.
If it was between a non-down graded version or top version of each aircraft. The F-16 would win. Its not just the machine, but also the pilot and training. The latest examples of each aircraft are pretty much even. Straight out dog fight i would take the F-16 latest production version over any version of the Mirage 2000.

The Mirage is a good plane no doubt but in this case it beat the F16 pilot not the plane. A well trainned US pilot in the F16 or 15 would be much harder to go after.

Wow!!!! The F16 didn't even see it coming!!!. It's common sense that the Mirage 2000 would tear up the F16 Falcon in pieces. The F16 is too old while the Miragae 2000 is by far newer. I think it would be cool to see the F1 (French) against the F16 Falcon in a dogfight since they're both about the same & compatible.

Its notable to say that Greece in 2010´s Red Flag competition was the only airforce that beat the USAF, with an astonishing 11-0 (kill-loss) ratio, as well as scoring one kill on a F-22 Raptor.
@dolippa [as well as scoring one kill on a F-22 Raptor] Sorry dude, but I have to call you on that one. The only a/c the Greeks could kill would be from the Aggressor Squadron, which are made up of F-15's and 16's.
First USAF was flying an F-15 squadron as the "agressors", after they got badly beaten up by the HAF F-16´s they brought in a new squadron with one F-22 and "replayed" the whole scenario, where HAF again came out victorious with 0 losses.
That being said, I must also mention that USAF was entering in old Warsaw-pact style (being the agressors), however it makes no diffrence when it comes to dogfighting, and dogfighting is what it boiled down to.
@dolippa Any loss of a F-22 is well known and documented. Please cite your source because F22's do not play on the aggressor squadron side under any circumstance. They are always on the blue force.
I read aobout the 11-0 victroy of day one, day two the Greeks lost three times. But, none of this really is a judge of Greek vs. US pilot's abilities. Red Flag is a DACT exercise, and if you understood that than you would realize this win-loss ratio is not a big deal.

@danitzi111 Actually those times the F-22 has been beat in mock dog fighting was because the rookie pilots in the raptors used Thrust vectoring to much causing them to lose air speed rapidly, the F-22 has 200 to 1 kill/loss ratio in mock dogfights in one "battle" one Raptor with a rookie pilot took on five F-15 and "beat" them all in a matter of seconds, one Eagle pilot said that he didn't see the raptor until it flew directly over his canopy. but i think the T-50 and Euro-fighter could beat it

@NickInMesa Coneek, the Mirage 2000 has a top speed of more than Mach 2. The D version serves as a strategic bomber and has a much higher speed, but it is classified. I am a bit fan of the Mirage 2000.

The F16 has a better trust /weight ratio than the M2000 & is that bit more manoverable. The F16 is also faster at low level & is faster fully loaded with weapons than a M2000 fully loaded.

Mirage 2000 is actually quite capable in a dogfight. However, the delta wing is not that suited for high speed tree top penetration. Also, it requires a relatively long take off run as all delta wings without forward canards do. The reason is one of physics. For rotation to happen, non-canard (assuming movable) deltas actually apply down force to ultimately get the nose up when accelerating on the runway. With canards, it would simply lift the nose.

The latest examples of each aircraft are pretty much even. Straight out dog fight i would take the F-16 latest production version over any version of the Mirage 2000.

Wow!!!! The F16 didn't even see it coming!!!. It's common sense that the Mirage 2000 would tear up the F16 Falcon in pieces. The F16 is too old while the Miragae 2000 is by far newer. This is a greek Mirage 2000 intercepting just another Turkish F-16, Scenarios like this happen in the hundreds every year when Turks enter Greek airspace, daily.
Its notable to say that Greece in 2010´s Red Flag competition was the only airforce that beat the USAF, with an astonishing 11-0 (kill-loss) ratio, as well as scoring one kill on a F-22 Raptor.

First USAF was flying an F-15 squadron as the "agressors", after they got badly beaten up by the HAF F-16´s they brought in a new squadron with one F-22 and "replayed" the whole scenario, where HAF again came out victorious with 0 losses.
That being said, I must also mention that USAF was entering in old Warsaw-pact style (being the agressors), however it makes no diffrence when it comes to dogfighting, and dogfighting is what it boiled down to.

@dolippa Any loss of a F-22 is well known and documented. Please cite your source because F22's do not play on the aggressor squadron side under any circumstance. They are always on the blue force.
I read aobout the 11-0 victroy of day one, day two the Greeks lost three times. But, none of this really is a judge of Greek vs. US pilot's abilities. Red Flag is a DACT exercise, and if you understood that than you would realize this win-loss ratio is not a big deal.

@danitzi111 Actually those times the F-22 has been beat in mock dog fighting was because the rookie pilots in the raptors used Thrust vectoring to much causing them to lose air speed rapidly, the F-22 has 200 to 1 kill/loss ratio in mock dogfights in one "battle" one Raptor with a rookie pilot took on five F-15 and "beat" them all in a matter of seconds, one Eagle pilot said that he didn't see the raptor until it flew directly over his canopy. but i think the T-50 and Euro-fighter could beat it

@NickInMesa The M2000 aint MUCH faster. There is very little between them. About 0.1 Mach. Thats nothing! Speed dont mean nothing in a dogfight if you think about subsonic Harriers shooting down supersonic Mirages in the Falklands & subsonic Mig17s shooting downsupersonic F4 Phantoms in Vietnam. The F16 has a better trust /weight ratio than the M2000 & is that bit more manoverable. The F16 is also faster at low level & is faster fully loaded with weapons than a M2000 fully loaded.

@lesionareis i did't see the proof site which u advised me but let suppose if this f-16 got shotdown then i m damn shure that the pilot was either of israel or india or any other weak airforce. i m not claiming that F-16 is a miracle cuz it can be down when children are flying it

@miansabahatullah pakie military is weak and crazy. They can most likely be defeated by the 15m population of Israel. Paki military is so weak they can't even stop the US from bombing them and killing their citizens with drones. Imagine what the Indian forces can do to the paki country?
