I don't know if John Cale was inspired to write this by Zevon's song - which *is* a fantastic tune - or 1995 Tarantino-aping movie starring Andy Garcia which stole the title of Warren's song.
I love both John and Warren though, they're great artists.

@mstipendiary28 i saw him live in hamburg a few years ago (absolutly amazing btw), and he introduced this song by telling a story about the movie

Nice rocksong, but - besides the title - it has nothing to do with Warren Zevons "Things to do in Denver when you're dead".
