Okay, this is a workable guide if you know the stuff well...as a matter of fact, learning to use Aircrack is actually learning programming (basics, at least), in case any of you out there think its just a "hit a button, get the password" software.

So, if you are in the field of computer science or with similar background, then Aircrack will be a piece of cake for you to learn and apply. If you are not, then you will have to go the extra mile to learn the terms and how-to b4 you start. ;-)

cracking wep isn't illegal... but you can use it for illegal purposes. Just like a kitchen knife. It's legal for chopping vegetables (in our case: it's legal to crack your own wep if u forget it etc.) but hold it up in the street and BOOM it's illegal. (in our case cracking somebody else's wep)

four fifths of this video is about emulating linux under vista. this is much easier to accomplish if you just use linux to begin with. backtrack3 is a livecd environment that can be used to launch aircrack just fine, without installing VMWARE or anything else to your harddrive. It would shorten your video to about 2 minutes.

I used VMware also and I was having a problem with get the USB Wifi card to monitor mode. I worked around with it for a couple of days and found out that the firwall was blocking it...just incase someone else is having that problem
