good light but I hope that the chinese get onto the whole light panel thing shortly because those prices for what is basically an LED torch are unsustainable.. that needs to be at least below $100 and thats still too much.

@aberdonianwanger You can really make your own easily, LEDs are sold by the hundreds for next to nothing on eBay. You can look for "DIY LED ring light" tutorials and just adapt it - lay them out on a square instead. They're powered by simple AA batteries or 9v batteries.

How did you get such perfect whites and colors with the mixed/terrible lighting? 0:27 for example.

Whitebalance, color tempature, high iso, shooting wide open aperture

@kiashadowwave the specific shots you mention are actually taken in the kitchen under florescent lights as the cook was making the dish...I set the white balance to florescent to compensate, nothing fancy there. when using the light panel while in the dining room, it is typically the main source of light and overpowers any ambient light. it's also daylight balanced.

Your food photos came out fantastic! When sitting, roughly what focal length are you shooting at there?
