Probably because he's playing a double ocarina. Has to move where he is on the mouth piece to change certain notes.

This ocarina is created by Focalink in Taiwan. In the past year, Darryn Songbird has made a deal with Focalink and now imports them from Taiwan. You can visit his site songbirdocarina(dot)com to purchase it. Look under the focalink section. It is a double Alto C ocarina in the key of C. It has a two octave range.

Thanks for the compliment! If you listen right around 0:26 , you will see me put the Oc to my mouth and start playing. Its easy to hear once you recognize the ocarina's tone.

It just takes a bit of figuring out. I listened to someone play a note on a piano, played that note, figured out where that note was on the paper, and it went from there. Now I can decently read sheets. :)
