  • What programs is that, where can i buy it? i would like to try for me...

    i kinda like it...

  • Wow, they use Mudbox?! I didn't think people actually used that.

  • I can only make characters in a sculpting program.

    Even then they are shit.

    merry Christmas!

  • You used Tablet or only mouse?

  • which program is that?

  • @d123s404 Autodesk MudBox 2009, theres already 2012

  • @bruge10

you do realize that this is the making of a bumpmap right?

  • Get ready for some spanking, fucking rabbits.

  • ZBrush much better use sculpting then mudbox but texture better mudbox

  • That gotta be for films and stuff?

I would've thought all those details would have been made with textures for ingame?

  • Comment removed

  • You better be baking that texture, buddy! That's like a 20k poly weapon!

  • this is so epic!!

i like how yo put cracks in the stone

it makes it look way cooler

  • I've been practicing concept art all wrong. : (

  • So I've been trialing mudbox, but when I export a .obj file from blender and load it into mudbox, the object list says that it has no faces. I'm not sure why. Is the poly too low?

  • just wondering but could someone tell me the difference between bumb maping and this? so is this tessolation?

  • who is the porr bastard that missed the like button?

  • what editor are you using id like to know if you have time

  • @oblivi0n99 the program is called Mudbox

  • @Raxe88 Thanks, this looks a LOT more friendlier than 3DS Max

  • @Raxe88 thanks

  • We want more of these Aubrey, seriously.

  • man i am sure it hurts when u get that to ur face

  • nice music

  • i love the music to this, wish i cud download it

  • @zARCADEz listen to youtube converts video to audio, and there is no other sound in this video. but i didnt say that....

  • @bruge10 well thats the high poly model, the one in game will not be that one. they will just make a normal map from it for a low poly model.

  • I officially want this program, it looks very easy to use, easier than blender

  • Very nice. Is that your own program?

I'd love to apply these kinds of details to my models.

  • @Freak2121GTAF He's using a program called Autodesk Mudbox! ;)

  • Im a little confused... Has Overgrown been released, or will it? If it has, where can i get it? is it free?

  • @eilif9 It' not out yet, but if you pay $29.95, you get access to the latest alpha version and the full version once it's released. It is NOT free, although I imagine there will be a demo eventually if you just want to try it first. Personally, I'd say just keep your pants on and worry about it when they announce a release date, not sooner.

  • will this be used in the game or are you going to use this to make normal maps for a low poly model of this to make a low poly model of this and have it look like its this high poly?

  • @cjoIIProductionz modern gpus dont like ~100,000 polygons per weapon, so yeah probably.

  • What is the program used in this video?

  • was it made in maya or 3ds max? what modeler did you use?

  • @superknife24 he uses max for modeling, the software in this video is mudbox

  • Whats for a programm?

  • i would say its beautifull but its not i would have to create a new word to describe how awsome this is so here it is this is beasome

  • @bruge10 Correction: Bump maps are so efficient.

  • If i see the stone part of this thing coming at my head, i will hum "bye bye world..."

  • Nice model. One minor question though : What material is the club's head supposed to be made of (since it's still untextured in the vid) ? Stone or iron ?

  • Looks more like stone, but I'm just curious, that's all. ;-)

  • @ZemplinTemplar Most probably iron since "Dog weaponry are well made"

  • Haha, did not see the whole video through, looking like stone now.

  • @ZemplinTemplar Could be a weapon of the stonecutter clan :)

  • awesome ^^

it is then used to normal map the in-game item, right?

  • one hit and the strings would leave the stone;)

  • ah, the mistake of the designer.

everywhere, artists, gamers and modellers alike are wasting their effort on detail that will not be noticed. :( It's a mistake i've been guilty of many times.

But, given the time and perspective to see it like this, I appreciate it greatly! very good render!

  • I think the player's that see the models have to see videos like this to actually know how long it takes to design one object to appreciate it

  • the detail would be effective if it was interactive and moving though correct?

  • and it would be noticed if it wasnt in the game but as a video. that stuff gets noticed

  • Makes me dizzy! O_O

  • Man I wish I had zbrush or mudbox... and some good inspiration to go with it. :P

    great work though!

  • What program are they using?

  • its called mudbox

but the use a modle wich they made first in a program called "3D studio max"

    good luck

  • IVE NEVER HEARD OF THESE GUYS.. holy crap amazing!

  • Are you gonna bake the normals to use as nMap on the low poly, real-time suitable model?

I find it hard to believe you're gonna use that high poly model, though i love all of your work so far!

  • wait, ill beat that on your head, then you tell me if it works

    :D

  • Hey, it's better than nothing :D

  • Nice job. Like how you made all the little loops on the ropes.

  • Really good timelapse for the model creation :o

It's a pity that most of the cool details will be barely visible in-game since it's a weapon that will get swished around all the time :(

  • thats so true all that time and effort and most people wont even see it

  • Great stuff!

  • Your my favorite video game company!

  • Nice Mudbox tutorial! ;)

    and nice game too.

  • Nice design :)

  • Nice one, very realistic :)

  • you guys need more music diversity in your demo videos, other then that keep up the great work i cant wait until this game comes out!

  • Oh man this looks awesome!

  • Purty!

  • i cant wait to play this

  • Saw this on facebook ;) very nice indeed.

  • Wow, such amazing detail on such insignificant object.

New game from creators of Black Shades looks better than Crysis, who would expect that?

    Keep it up!

  • nvm - its mudbox :)

  • what program is this? zbrush or mudbox? other?

  • If every item in the game is going to look like this, this game is going to be beautiful!

  • How many polygons is that O_O

  • While in the editor it is 2 million. but he will optimize it

  • Ah I see. Looks fuckin great :)

In game does it dynamically change in quality for optimization or something?

  • I'd imagine he'll generate a normal map from the high poly version.
