I use both fingers and pic. it all depends on how I want my songs to sound, if i want a harder "clicking" sound I use a pick and if I want a softer melodic sound I use my fingers, it's individual, If you wanna use a pick then use a pick, that doesn't mean you are a bad bassplayer.
