  • Alan Merrill will be in Japan this August 12th 2010 to perform at the Joe Yamanaka benefit at Club Crocodile in Tokyo. He will be on stage with Monsieur Kamayatsu and Take Yokouchi founding members of Vodka Collins, so it will be a kind of band reunion.

  • There will be a Hiroshi Oguchi memorial concert in Tokyo this January 25th 2010 with the remaining members of Vodka Collins and other bands who will be celebrating the life of drummer Hiroshi Oguchi who passed away January 2009.

  • They had the memorial nd a Vodka Colins reunion show. You can see pictures on current photo section on Alan Merrill's website.

  • Vodka rocks!

  • Indeed sir!

  • Sad news about Hiroshi Oguchi. He was a great all around talent. Drummer, actor and painter.

  • Julian Cope just wrote a book about japanese rock with this lot in it.

  • No, Vodka Collins are on the Cope website, full page, but not in the book. The book is more about 1950s & 60s Japanese rock history.

  • Yes, Vodka Collins are not in the book, but are mentioned in careful detail on the website in a full page of text.

  • @vivicola There are new serious books being written about the Japan scene which will include Vodka Collins. Cope's book is considered twisted humor in Japan.

  • The drummer Hiroshi Oguchi is acting in another film titled Silk. It just came out.

  • There's a rumour there will be one last Vodka Collins tour next summer 2008.

  • Monsieur and Alan are having so much fun! You can see it.

  • This was on the vinyl LP Tokyo-New York!

  • Lotta Rolling Stones influence here!!!!

  • Right, the same guitar strap as main one usually.

  • Funny, Alan's had that same guitar strap for about 100 years! He had it when he was with Derringer, Meat Loaf, even on the cover of his 1985 solo album!

  • A classic track from their Tokyo - New York LP.

  • Monsieur K and Alan Merrill will be on Fuji TV on August 16th '07, international broadcast on the Sekai Gumi show. It's a 90 minute special with a live segment at BB King's in NYC.

  • They are on Fuji TV today. They perform the song "Automatic Pilot" from Vodka Collins.

  • The drummer Hiroshi Oguchi is the star of the Japanese cult film film "Strange Circus."
