That is completely wrong. The Kremlin archives have been open for a long time now. meetings, all KGB records are freely available and have been studied in detail. They reveal that there was NO plan to expand into the west. In fact there was no build up of forces as Rumsfled so famously kept repeating during the Regan years. It was all American propaganda. Even Afghanistan was, as the SU had said, humanitarian aid. It is for reasons like this that we should celebrate the end of the evil right.

what we are hopefully seeing with the end of the neo-cons, is the end of rule by propaganda. Even Regan, to his credit, refused Rusmfeld's imperialist ambitions. The project for the new American century was really set up as a way of keeping such ideas alive. It is only with Bush2 that we have the Hawks properly in power. This has cost the USA dear, both in terms of allies, American lives and the lives of 100,000s of civilians. The world expects better of the USA. Thanks for Obama.

Of course there will always be wars, but it doesn't mean it has to be us causing them. The experience McCain has is that he was in the army- big fucking deal.
