@scratchneck : This comment is proof that um, "straight " hip hop heads like yourself - despite their protestations to the contrary - will eventually find the gay content they really want to get their nut off to with the help of a metasearch ....even if it's in a video by a relatively obscure indy artist on a micro-independent boutique label.
Someone leaves a nasty comment about gay rappers here and then clicks on over to some other straight rapper talk about how big his dick is and how he's going to use it. Pot, kettle, yadda yadda
The odd thing to me is the way some posters assume that DDC "represents" gay hip hop. As if one group represented all people of a sexual orientation, working within a genre. Neither Saul Williams nor Eminem (just for instance) are assumed to speak for straight hip hop.
I mean, if you don't like the music, it's whatever. But if you think that all gay people (or even all gay emcees) are the same, well, I feel sorry for you.
I think Deep Dickollective will go down as an incredibly influential group in years to come. I'm not that big of a fan, I do enjoy some of their songs, but their message is what will transcend the subjective-ness that is "talent". I think they were all talented, personally. Homo-hop/lgbt rap is incredibly new, and like all things new, you have to take what you get. There are some really good rappers, but we all need to support the scene. DD will be praised more than before in years to come.
tell the first dude on the track to step back from the mic hes stadin way too close (also its bad like the worst kind of backpacker shit) im gay as hell and i think this shit is complete garbage its horribly arranged and the third guy sounds like a white dude immitating the 80s≥ the langston hughes name drop comes off as awkward as hell. if this is what "gay rap" is supposed to sound like i will never rap. the only part worthwhile is the sung verse.
1) I think that this just maybe just wasn't made for you. that's cool :-)
2) Making the assertion that performance/arrangement , etc. of this song is singularly or collectively discouraging you from doing your own thing likely means that you're either hella weak minded or that the recording itself is more resonant than you'd prefer (or are able) to admit.
You're 21. Ihough, so I'll give a lil' leeway for your jive-assing and internal conflama. It's that of yo' life. :-)
thanks for the reasonable reply i never get those on youtube even when i complement people im usually called a hater. you're right its not made for me i mostly listen to southern rap/new orleans bounce nowadays so its getting harder and harder for me to appreciate other kinds of rap, so take my comments as you will
@pontiac40069: Thank you for making my point , you dumbass, by following your dumbass question with the expected dumbass reactionary response. You dumb dumbass. Save yourself some energy next time and just say what you *really* want to ("fuck you fag[s])") instead of wasting time with euphemistic rhetorical inquiries re: "homosexual blacks".
Ya dumb dumbass. How'd you "find" this video anyway?. Wait. don't answer that.
i found this and im definitley not gay... i just find that gay people tryin to rap is hilarious because they are all terrible ESPESIALLY deadlee he is garbage. the only hard homo in my opinion is Faggot Bruce. also what is dumb dumbass a little redundent you think
1) yeah, you "found" it too, huh?...um, OK. Did it "call" you maybe? Just sayin'.
2)Faggot Bruce? You got one on me. I didn't think a sraight dude would ever be a resource for a queer emcee i'd never heard of. Wouldn't make you "gay" as such....but a fag rap connoisseur for sure.
3) yes, redundant...like "faggot-ass faggot". A joke. guess you missed that.
i got nothin against gay people per se its just that they are horrible rappers with no flow at all. i found this because i couldnt beleive this was an actual genre
@Imchargin: You know, I used to consider deleting remarks like yours but changed my mind, thinking that they would be good lessons for other readers. I used to think that the baseline of ignorance on YouTube couldn't possibly get any lower, but some of the comments here have changed my mind. Aesthetic notions aside, and forgetting homophobia for a sec- people who are actually *proud* to be stupid as stupid as you are just boggle my mind.
yourewatchingit: i dunno....maybe "gay version of ATCQ/BEP" is redundant.....you didn't say "yo that song and video were wack" which is more important, i think...because you couldn't.:)
damn, ddc, that is a great video as well as an amazing song. loved it! deep. i know most of the folks in the picture. would love to see a list of everyone there.
