I used to work for FOX 28. I started out in master control, did video production, and was even the voice of this station during the mid 90's.
The chief engineer will take the station off the air typically for maintenance during this time. They will do upgrades, make adjustments, etc. Even a few of the radio stations I've worked at will go off the air overnight in order to do maintenance on the tower in order to comply with the FCC. This is typical.
This is common with a lot of local TV stations. Remember that back in the day, all stations would sign off the air every night around midnight or so...not going back on the air until 6am.
None of them broadcasted 24 hours. They would sign off playing the National Anthem and video of Mt Rushmore or something. LOL
I'm well aware it used to be common for all TV stations to go off-the-air overnight, but nowadays none of the Columbus-area TV stations go off the air except for WTTE during the said time in the info box (this was recorded the day it was uploaded). Even the local PBS, CW, and other non-affiliated stations in Columbus stay on-the-air 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
That's It? Just An ID Then Straight To Color Bars? No "This Concludes Our Broadcast Day" Or Anything Like That?

Now they do not go off-the-air on Mondays or ever. Instead they have infomercials!
So now every Columbus-area TV station is on-the-air 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
