Just picked up Minor Threat Complete Discography at the Flea Market and I love it. I dont see whats so wrong with this cover, its obviously different, no one can match Ian's voice.

Wow Shabadoo, get the cock out of your ass and realize that this is a just an homage. Do you think Rise Against tries to get be successful through covers? No, they do them for fun. They're INFLUENCED by MT and BF, they don't aspire to be perfect clones. Just because they like a certain type of music doesn't mean that they HAVE to write it too. And this is a damn good cover too, just because it isn't Ian MacKaye singing doesn't mean that it sucks. If you don't like it, you can fuck off.

I'm a big fan of RA and i really have to give these guys credit for making prolly the best punk rock record of the 00's (RPM) and for introducing a new generation for the best fucking bands i've ever heard. If it wasn't for Rise Against i don't know if i had ever found Minor Threat, Black Flag, Bad Brains and stuff like that

This I can respect, lol. Yeah, RPM was crazy good, I still play through it all the time. I know alotta people who heard Rise Against's new stuff and liked it, so I played their older albums and they liked that so I threw some old school hardcore at 'em and...whadya know, they liked that too lol. Rise Against is the perfect gateway drug for newbies lookin' to ease into hardcore from more melodic mainstream offerings. I love Rise Against though, so I'm prolly a touch biased...
