Just bought a T2i today. Thinking about taking it back & trading up to the 60D. I like the T2i but I have big hands and the 60D just fits like a glove...and I REALLY love the articulating display on the 60D! It also has an aluminum body, whereas the T2i is plastic. Then again, the 60D is $320 more. As far as photo & video quality, I guess the two are essentially the same camera though...right? For what it's worth, the salesman recommended the 18-135 lens (over the more common 18-55).

when you focus/zoom manually with the kit lens during a video, can you hear that later in the video, i mean the zooming and focusing, does that make a sound you can hear later..?? ( i know it does in autofocus mode, but what about manual focus..??)

1) Great picture quality, like D90

2) Great video quality, like T2i

3) Great auto focus, fast auto focus?

4) Fast speed, for pictures and following subject in video

I went to the camera shop recently and the majority of the employees owns a Canon DSLR and from what I've observed from random people and friends and family most own a Canon so this 21st century is a Canon era.

canon 550D is currently the best camera in the world. no doubt that this camera is truly best in its class. no other camera maker can gives this much powerful camera into this small body. canon is truly the best camera maker throughout the years, either the compact cams or dslr, consumer/prosumer/professional level, canon is all the way to go. you won't go wrong with canon gear. canon is the best.
