During Warsaw uprising because of Russians we lost already whole Warsaw which was called "Paris of the East". Poles didn't want to lose everything as well. And we had to lose. During Warsaw uprising because of Russians we lost already whole Warsaw which was called "Paris of the East". Poles didn't want to lose everything as well. And we had to lose. @RingBearer1992 ...I changed my views, I realised that we were never one state anyway, as Great Britain was a 1707 political construct, we started off as two nations under a treaty of union, not a single state, then eventually Wales was given back it's own individual constitution and N.Ireland wanted to remain part of the UK after Ireland joined in the re-constituted UK of 1801, but left again in the early 1900's.

@xtremekaizer How about I drop over and help you pack it up. You think you'd be anywhere in the world today if it were not for the formation of the US? You think India pines for the good old days under colonial rule? I think not. We entered WW2 to save Europe's butt and to halt aggression. I like Britain too but I love my country first. While you're humming God Save the Queen, we'll be singing the new and improved version..

@samadipants Good one! You lot entered the war once most of the serious fighting was already done. Once the RAF had secured the skies over Britain and the Navy had secured the channel, all without U.S help. These are the reasons D Day was possible. And the other route up through Italy was possible because the British army had beaten the Germans in North Africa and the Navy and RAF had won the conflict in the Meditteranian. You only turned up for the glory.

I hate god save the queen, why? 1. I dont believe in monarchy 2. Why would you be asking an imaginery friend to save her? All said and done i am still a very proud Englishman and Britain. Time to take the country back from the ruling classes me thinks!

In fact, surveys show that when asked which anthem they'd like to hear in stadiums or official meetings, "god save the queen" doesn't get many votes. "Land of hope and glory" and "jerusalem" top the polls. "Rule Britannia" is still quite popular, but its lyrics in praise of Britain's past imperial glory come across as outdated.

I am Canadian and even though the majority of my family is British I think that Canada should get a new head of state. The queen is not our ruler any more

@thebritish25 I agree with what you say but Canada is not a British colony or dominion any more. We have people from every country in the world that live here. I respect the Queen but i still think that we should get our own head of state (that isnt called a president)

I was born in Australia, yet God save the Queen all the same!!! Its a shame that i've noticed a large portion of this country is looking to severe bonds with England, i hope that never occurs, England in itself is a wonderful and fantastic place, i have almost 1000 years of Scottish, English and now Aussie blood in me and i take great pride in that, Im proud to have British blood, no place is fairer :)

We are proud to be British, And why shouldnt we be we have had a great history and still are great to this day. My heart goes out to all the heroes who fought in not just ww1 and ww2 but all of the wars we have fought, Including Afghanistan and Iraq.
