    Genesis = Korean Copy of Infiniti G35/37

    Genesis = Mitsubishi Evo x Nissan Silvia S15 Mash-up

    Genesis = RWD Mitsubishi Eclipse

    ...but I must admit tho, it's the best Korean car ever made, but that's it.

  • @apexdna First of all my first language is spanish, second Hyundai use to be low budget cars if you compare them to others car company and yes the car had the same engine but that is something that always happen when a company is going up, first someone else make the engines and later they made their stuff and go big

  • @rafaryfc And some, like Honda for example, went "big" only 2 years after making their first automobile, by taking the podium at the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix in Formula 1 and having a road car with a 9,500 RPM factory redline, there was no need to borrow 20-year-old engines from a foreign country...and again, don't get me wrong I think 4G63's are one of the best engines ever made.

  • also can you guys tweak the IMA to work better with different tune settings.

    i would love to be able to tune the ima and the turbo so you can use the different performance settings. for example.

    eco mode - low boost "lean mode" with more IMA assist.

    normal mode - low boost, better fueling, normal IMA assist with ima charge.

    sport mode - high boost/fuel, ima assist only on starts.

  • i have a fiew questions because i want to buy a crz.

    first i work at a honda dealer, and the epa sticker says 37hw(i think) and like 32city mpg.

    thats worse than the civic hybrid and insight.

    now can you buys (bizi) tune them for better mpgs?

    and can you guys improve mpgs with the right turbo setup.

    reason being is because if i buy one i want to turbo it and tune it for mpgs.

    i dont care about having 500whp. i would be happy with a small turbo and 200hp and better better mpgs.

  • @euroaaRON1, I bought a CRZ about 5 months ago. The EPA estimates are a bit off I think. I have never seen less than 39 mpg so far. 39 was my lowest when running the AC constantly during the heatwave here in Chicago. When I do a lot of highway I usually average between 42 and 46 at the end of the tank. If you use the eco mode on the highway and cruise at 65, the instant MPG meter holds at 50-55 mpg. I suppose if you beat on it and drove all city it would go to low 30's.

  • Does the turbo enhance gas mileage driving normally as many turbo hondas get great gas mileage if tune right. I bet it might get better gas mileage then a stock crz with bisimoto tuning. You should compare gas mileage and show these guys that 500 hp can get 40mpg

  • The electric motor still helps a lot from a dead stop, instant torque. After that ... it's probably entirely off.

  • Do not see the point of this. After a 40k build you get what my stock motor did from the 90's and I still get 20+mpg and DD. If they really want a green car stop playing around and legalize cannibus/hemp can be used as fuel same as E85/ E100 but does not harm the food chain. Not to mention the Byproduct is o2. All this hybrid stuff is crap.new CRZ 33 mpg old CRX hf 50mpg. They are pissing on everyones head and telling us its rain and ppl are drinking it up.

    I'd be amazed if it didn't have to climb to 11bagillion rpms to make even a fraction of that power.

    Make a 1.5 liter engine that makes all it's power in the low end. Then i'll be impressed (cause it means i can tow things with it :D).

  • if you read about the car, then it talks about how bisi did his math homework lol and picked the perfect turbo size for his setup...which allows the hybrid part of the crz to still work at low rpms..so cruising, it still gets great gas mileage..ie hybrid

  • @Bisimoto you are the man bisi I thought the 700hp z6 was crazy you really outdid yoursself on this 1 and question how much more power will I gain from your cam I got the zex cam and I'm making decent power 300whp on 10psi which is low boost until I do my map sensor and I need a better intercooler mine is maxed out but I think your cam can make more power and I'm gonna need a intake manifold and throttle body too

  • There's really no point to it, it's a nice thing to add to a brochure on the car, but there are plenty of 1.5L's out there making similar power getting as good if not better fuel economy than the CR-Z attains.....

    The Hybrid system is just a way to get 2 markets with 1 car, the people who want a Cr-x and the people who want to be complete idiot green d-bags who think they're making a difference by buyng a hybrid not knowing they're providing much more pollution to the world than an ICE engine

  • @LOGIC42369 Since the turbo is sized properly, we obtain 41mpg, as in cruzing, the engine induction remains in a vacuum state.

  • @wiccanmoonman how do you figure? Its a small displacement turbocharged engine, you have to make the engine build boost and I am sure its laggy, so just driving around the car is not going to burn any additional fuel if its tuned right and it still has the hybrid equipment. Its not until you get into the throttle that the additional fuel will be used. HP cant be made without fuel, so any car that makes big hp has to burn big fuel under full throttle.

    to see what they could come up with

    Put the pieces of the puzzle together and you'll know what to expect in the future ; )

  • @A4ANT nice so 533hp is just the starting point and honda will sell more of them because there's mods out there for them so both honda and the tuners will benefit from this. it might just take Popularity from the EG because not only does it save gas it good for racing as well

As technology and computer systems are changing are you finding that tuning these vehicles have become more of a challenge, or is it essentially the same as older hondas? P.s.   • @zcsb1 The vehicle was designed for all around fun: street, road course and drag. The AEM boost/speed function allows for low boost settings at lower speeds, and then unleashes amazing power in long straightaways. The turbo sizing allows for excellent torque characteristics. If a pure drag car, I would have opted for a much bigger turbo!

  • @Bisimoto Bigger turbo means more lag am i right? what kind of turbo you're planning to stick on this car?? In my opinion i consider to get a small turbo with a good cooling system and crank up the turbo to the same amount of psi so it doesn't get turbo lag. What turbo are you considering to stick?? since you want a bigger turbo. I'd say 533 hp is a lot of hp for a car like this and a engine that size.

  • @elchicoboy Your comment is a bit confusing, but the vehicle has been built with a perfectly sized turbine housing to allow excellent cruizing economy, coupled with mid-high rpm power. 533hp is just the tip of the iceberg, as we plan to crank up the boost to achieve more!

  • @Marbind Actually, you are quite incorrect, sir. The scaling on the chart you may have seen is so short that it may appear misleading in band shape. This CRZ's powerband is extremely appealing for street and track, and if you looked carefully, there is a factory power overlay to show this advantage with boosting vs na.

    Don't forget its a Honda. Don't forget its equipped with VTEC.

    Race Spec Honda engines with more that 500 Horse power, are absolutely wonderful in street conditions. Variable Timing, makes it possible, to start very smooth, and still produce a Lot of power at the end of the power band.

    *Honda B engines equipped with Killer Cams are totally Hardcore and not meant for smooth driving... :p*

    Remember! This CR-Z still has the Integrated Motor Assist! That makes it even better!

    Keep in mind that it's ALL MOTOR.

    Bisi isn't just some little rich bitch who simply throws 80lbs of boost at an engine, to create dyno queens. This guy's an engineer who builds his own parts and builds/balances/blueprints engines from the ground up & runs his own performance shop. It's not ALL rice, just cause it's Japanese.
