  • Christof.

  • What a beautiful song

  • @RTO41 u are 1000% correct

  • You listen to a song like this and later to one of those ''songs'' of regeton and you say:WTF is happening with the music.

  • Beloved Michael <3

He was one of a kind

  • Durruti

  • This is such a song for revolutionaries.

  • yes he was. but no more. god bless my brother. 12 years old was he, and a better man you could not find.

  • Thanks for uploading this one. One of the most powerful songs I have ever heard (and without a wall of guitar amplifiers, even).

  • I LOVE SIMON & GARFUNKEL!!!!

  • Freedom Riders=American Heroes

  • This is my favorite song by them. It is amazing.

  • the most beautiful song ever!

  • so true

  • It amazes me that there is a debate here over the correct lyrics "Freedom Rider" ..... It is not "Freedom Writer" ..... Freedom Riders were brave civil rights activists who rode on buses into the segregated South in the 1960s to help bring and end to Jim Crow Laws, by civil disobediance breaking laws that that discriminated against Blacks. I know history may be boring to some, but some history is vital to understanding America where weare and where we have been.

  • @jaddison1112 anyone who didn't live the 60's and 70's and cares nothing of history will have had a hard time understanding this song. I grew up in those turbulent times and appreciate what Simon and Garfunkle had to contribute to society and the music world. Thanks for posting.

  • r u sure its not freedom rider? Just kinda sounds like it is

  • "Mississippi's gonna be your burying place"

    alternate lyrics (interesting to note)

  • This song is beautiful, specially when you know why they wrote it, for her friend Andrew Goodman, he was killed by the ku klux klan, a true hero, defending what's right

  • i never had a brother but i love this song!!!

  • @birdman404 It's not their real brother, he was one of their really close friends that was a civil rights activist, he was killed by the KKK. Very sad story, although he died with honor, I respect him enormously.

  • i dont really understand this song how did his brother die this is my first time listening to this song so dont call me a dumbass....

  • @proudmarine90 his brother didnt die, just a good friend who was murded by simple minded white americans back in the 60's

  • freedom writer!

  • I'm fairly certain it's "freedom RIDER," not "freedom writer."

  • And what difference does that make, my brother?

  • @ShadowKate3 Well, "freedom riders" are those who rode in buses to the south to help fight for civil rights for African Americans. "Freedom writer" does not make sense in the context of this song.

  • While I agree "freedom rider" makes more sense in the context of the song, the lyric sheets that come with the album say "freedom writer." Perhaps it was wrongly transcribed back then.

  • I just found this album after losing it a year ago, and...wow. A masterpiece! God bless Simon and G-funk!

  • I heart this album hasn't had any succes???

    Is that right?

    Whyy?

  • when I was younger I didn't understand the meaning of this song because i wasn't able to speak english, now 17 years later I'm still in love with Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel :))))

  • OOh yeahh! boom.

  • sad song

  • thanks judeorEleanor for posting this song. And thanks diborapi for telling for whom this song was written. All I know was its being a sad and melancholic song. Now i know it is for a man named A Goodman. Killed by the Ku Klux Klan.

    Thanks again guys.

  • my dad has brother thet die thet he was Twenty three years old and 5 years older then my dad....

    thet spooky

  • This song was dedicated for Andrew Goodman, an activist of the american civil rights and a friend of both Simon and Garfunkel, that was killed by Ku klux Klan in 1964.

  • @diborapi I really hate the Ku Klux Klan, jesus.

  • Great song, paul simon had a beautiful voice.

  • S and G had many very sad songs, do you know who this song is about?

Sparrow is another very sad song by them...

  • he talking about the civil rights movment.

  • I loved these boys!!! crush crush crush crush

  • amazing...thats all i can say about this song, its practically a true story for me, my brother was murdered recently, and I already loved Paul Simon, I think Simon once again knew my life before I was even born.

and thanks JudeorEleanor (I love that name btw, yay for the beatles. lol)
