  • Hasn't one (at least, imo) of the judges at Crufts been prosecuted for gross animal neglect??

  • Love how his tail is always wagging

  • Best dog in Crufts! I swear he looked the happiest too!

  • Beautiful dog! So happy in the ring and his wagging tail seems to stand out! Wonderful!

So glad he won best in show!

  • Way behind in my comments - but YAY!! Jet is a beautiful boy dog. I so love flatcoats - they are THE BEST!!! And Jim does such a great job with his dog - owner handled to Group 1 at Crufts - GREAT JOB, Jim.

  • I have a flattie (in Australia) and am completely biased...but WOW what a stunning boy...he is loved and THAT is so evident in his demeanour. Thank goodness his boss is a devoted flattie man....Congratulations....he is a jewel for sure.

  • A stunning, stunning flat!

  • i got a labrador and she is dopy

  • Congratulations, Jet! It was a deserved victory!

  • Well done Jim and Jet, good luck for Sunday .... couldn't have happened to a nicer guy and dog, well deserved win and a big plus for "gundogs" in general.

  • WELL DONE to Jim & Jet ! A very "unique dog" well deserved ! Puts alot of youngsters to shame when he moves round the ring---not bad for nine and a half......

His son & daughter say way to go dad.........

  • What a beautiful dog! Oozed quality and moved superbly - he looks like he would run round without his handler! Its so nice to see a happy dog in the ring - was he smiling as he ran round? Top Dog. Good luck to to Jet and Jim on Sunday - you've got our vote already, they surely don't come any better??

  • Labradors are the most popular breed yes. And also the biggest group at Crufts. Which means the competition is very stiff. The Flat coated Retriever is beautiful, and I am glad he won. I tend to think that the more glamorous breeds are favoured. That is just my opinion though. Btw, I am the proud owner of a five month old yellow Labrador. And I know why they are so popular, they happen to be fabulous dogs.

  • Such a handsome dog!

  • Jet is one of the most lovely FCR studs I've ever seen and Mr. Irvine is such a nice person! Jet always seems happy in the ring, always wagging.

  • Flatcoats are not "'the most popular breed " ansleyn Labradors would quality for that. FCR's are a much older breed.

The win is even more impressive as their numbers in UK are not huge, almost a rare breed now. Very popular with

Beautiful dog and so obviously enjoying the showing and his personality .

  • @sjcmeg01 Actually I do not believe that flatcoats are an older breed than the labrador - but they do have some similar dogs in their backgrounds. Flatcoats are a rare breed no matter what country you are in except for maybe Sweden and possible the Netherlands. They are not a breed for everyone as they truly are the "Peter Pan" of the dog world and never truly grow up.

  • Well deserved win for the FCR. Hardly a regular / predictable result!

  • The Italian Spinone was robbed. Judging gets off to a typically predictable srate by picking the most popular breed. Boring.

  • So pleased for Sue & Annie Kettle, owners of Molly the Cocker Spaniel, such a wonderful example of our gorgeous breed. x x

  • So pleased for Jim Irvine and Jet winning the group. But the best win of the day was Oscar the Golden and my pal Linsey getting 4th in the group. So pleased and thrilled for them.

  • What a stunning Flat Coated Retriever! Totally deserved it. I was hoping the Golden Retriever would get 2nd. He is stunning too!

  • He was the deserved winner in my opinion, and best of all, he looked the happiest during the whole thing!

  • Jet is absolutely gorgeous! He looks so happy to be in the ring. So happy he won, especially since he lives close to me! :D Hope he or a Dalmatian goes on to win Best In Show! :D
