@MegaGayjesus I think that's a great idea, actually! Have it appraised - you can go to an antiquary, or you can ask someone from the Baker Street Irregulars of the Sherlock Holmes society. The Museum may buy it off you, either the one in Baker Street or the one in Portsmouth, UK. There is one in New York too, if I'm not too mistaken.

Still, after you appraise it, keep me in mind! I've been a Sherlock Holmes fan for so many many years, and I would love to own that. Good luck!

@Serena2583 They beefed it up quite a bit. Holmes only mentions his engagement in passing, and that with an air of making a joke. Watson is rightly scandalised, but the event and topic stops there. We see neither the aftermath, during, or any reaction.

This is pretty disappointing really. I mean, I'm all for romance but.....no. Just no. -facepalm- Poor Sherlock....

@FullmetalShortOne *laugh* oh, this was a bag of fun though, one has to admit. And remember: we never really saw Holmes in this kind of disguise, and Watson keeps saying he is really fantastic with women when he puts his mind to it. I was more disappointed at 'The Green Gables'. They have Watson get a good beat-up there, and Holmes' reaction is 'oh, you have a bandage, redress that'. Judging by the smuggler's case in canon, I was expecting a more explosive reaction.

@elenore88 So because the producer was a woman, she turned it into a romance novel? Why isn't it the fault of the screenwriter or the director, both of whom were men? This producer was also behind the Cardboard Box and the Dying Detective, and no one complains that those were made into trashy romances.

@brokenrecord64 no not 'because' she was a woman. but 'because' she was a woman with poor taste. And I didn't watch either of the above although I watched pretty much the rest of the series on here. Once she got her claws onto it, it got too ridiculous.

Poor sherlock ceased to be sherlock holmes, and became an overly dramatic version of a hero from a woman who reads too many trashy novels IMO.

She ruined it.

Do all women? Of course not. Stop trying to put words in my mouth.
