here's something I don't get. in order to be "persecuted", you have to be the minority of something. how can "Christians" be persecuted (or feel persecuted) when over 80% of Americans identify themselves as Christian?

Mike Malloy proves once again why he's one of the smartest guys on radio, and I don't blame him a bit for getting frustrated at 'Christian' morons who claim they are being 'discriminated' against...hell these religious assholes are ALWAYS trying to shove their delusional beliefs about imaginary sky beings down our throats and then they have the nerve to say THEY are the ones being 'persecuted'...fuck 'em all

I think Malloy explained this all wrong.A kid is free to pray in school to Jesus, to Allah, to who or whatever they want to pray to.What has been discontinued is a formal prayer led by a school official like your principal, or the teacher in your first period class.Your child if they choose to do so can pray and can even organize others to pray as well.Don't blame liberals because you're not taking the initiative to do it yourself.

So the caller was saying no relgion should be given special treatment. He was starting off that point by saying that christians get in trouble. Mike interrupted pouncing on that saying "you shouldn't pray" when that was not even related to the caller's point, which was allow everyone or no one to pray. Also, I know i spelled everything wrong in the last post. My computer is slow. I know that is a favorite debate tactic of the left. You spelled something wrong haha.So I wanted to point that out

@Santroy79 mike interrupted the man as he was trying to make his point.He was trying to say followers of other religions are allowed to practice their faith and its even encouraged. With christians, its discouraged.

@crd721 what school do you go to???? No public school lets others religions practice & talk about their faith in school. NONE!!! There is usually a moment of silence in the morning and any religion of any faith can say a prayer to the god of their choice. Thats whats done and the only thing that should be done. Mike is completely right on this issue and the reason he kept interrupting the guy is because he was going to say what you just said and its not true.

@Santroy79 as I said "HE (referring to the caller) was trying to say," meaning not my own words. Malloy interrrupted saying you shouldnt pray before the caller could make his point which was not related to Mike's point. While I dont completely agree with the caller, the courts do seem to be very accomodating to other religions when lawsuits come up. More than they would be if everythign was the same but the plaintiff was a christian instead

I think Mike is at a greater extreme than the average. He is a very angry, bitter man. Show me a left-wing radio talk show host with a comparable vitriolic tone.

Faith doesn't deserve respect, especially when fundamentalist Christians seem to hate everyone who isn't just like them, they seek to pass laws based on their "faith" and many would like to turn this country into a theocracy (hopefully not you). Theres nothing wrong with a private school educationl. Many of my good friends attended Catholic school and have done quite well as adults. Just because you reject Christianity doesnt mean you should determine the path of others.

Faith...we ALL possess faith. We just decide where to place it. What do you place your faith (trust) in?

As for seeking to pass laws based on faith (actually on Christian moral standards) what standard do you use to determine morality? What determines your moral code?

I dont think Christians seek to turn this country into a theocracy. There may be some extremist but they are a small minority.

And please, dont use Westboro as some kind of standard. Do you honestly think most Christians support them and their ways? They are known by their fruit my friend.

Ive researched and soul-searched for 22 years and the outcome of this long trek is that there is, indeed, a Creator and we do, indeed, continue to exist after our bodies give way. I think were here to make a decision...about love and life...real life. I believe there is something great at stake. Ive chosen love and life by choosing to believe in Christ. I wish life for you too. Thats my Christianity in a nutshell. A choice is before you...water or fire.
