  • In Irish "Tir gan tenga, tir gan anam;"

A land without a language is a land without a soul.

You have a lovely voice. Thank you for using that voice to share with us the soul of your people.

  • @Kaughphie

Yes, the Irish should know by now... First, they gave up their language, and lost their soul, then they gave up their currency, and lost their sovereignty. Paddy Pearse would turn in his grave -- is this what he, and others, died for?

  • @schlagerhansi We've been trying to re-introduce gaelic in the schools but most of us adults don't hardly speak it. I don't remember much past a few songs, some pleasantries, and some insults/curses.

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

  • i like your voice it relaxes me after a stressful day....you should make a song about a mothers' love for her son.( in lakota/english).

i am sober i love all my children, but my youngest son has a cyst that will eventually turn into cancer...i love him w/ all my heart and it gets hard and so sad for me, i pray and when i fell sad i listen to some of your songs and it makes me feel alright....my children like to listen too.pilameya.

  • thank you so very much for sharing your gift of song with all the world and with me. I'd love to learn the Lakota language and truly enjoy singing so I'll be listening to this and reading the words over and over until I learn pronunciation to be able to then sing it. Deep in my soul there is a Lakota from another lifetime living in breathing. My visions tell me so. God Bless you.

  • Aho!

  • I can say it in Lakota/Dakota but I will say it as this - from my heart beat to your's thank you for your gift of sharing God's love to other's more so that any elder who may see this will listen and receive it with the respect and honor of their "own" language from another "relative". with respect thank you.

  • @Thrawn6211 wash-TAY, this means 'good' in Lakota language. conventionally spelled: waste. For example, Lila waste means 'very good' and is said like : LEE-lah wash-TAY.

  • Indigenous languages bring out centuries old injustices of the past. Our prayers go out to the generations. Thx for the translation hiy hiy.
