I bought my brothers 89 gt back in 1997 it had 120,000 miles on it. Sold it in 2007 with 285.000 miles on the original enigine. Put two trannys in it though. The gas door was shot due to rust. The drivers side seat moved because the bottom of the seat was rusting through the body lol. The engine started to lose coolant alot but at 285,000 miles the engine still ran strong. Bought my first new car a 2007 chevy aveo hatchback lol aint a 5.0 but a tank of gas 11.9 gals lasts a looooong time.
thats like you saying you dont discriminate against hondas with huge wings that put out no where near enough HP to actually use the damn thing, and stickers all over and nasty ass body kits and 20's on a civic.....everyone has their own taste, I dont like how he put the 5.0 emblem under the wing, so fuckin what its MY opinion......not urs.....so why dont you go look through another months worth of comments and find someone who gives a shit what you think...kuz I dont
Nice car i was just working on my 89 Mustang gt today since it hasnt been run in 5 years. It started up right away with a new battery and some new gas..
i dont with draw my previuse statment but i want to ad a new one. i never seen an ls1 break down. but i love my 1989 mustang looks about like that one minuse the good tail lights the hood and the rims and its charcole grey needs a little body work like weather striping and stuff but its got a mildly build gt40 creat motor in it
Too bad the GT ran mid 13's with basic bolt ons (pre Edelbroke-heads), auto tranny and drag radials. Sadly the GT was sold in 04, motor was pulled and dropped into a 91 notch (converted 4cyl), which runs 12's with ease. Thank god it's not an LS1, I'd hate to get into that engine may on an F-body.
@xaviervahidy Well seeing how the LS1 didn't debut in the F-Body till 98, and there's almost a 10 year difference from my 89 to the LS1 debut, I'm fine with that, you're comparing apples to eggplants here. Not to mention the 48 extra cubes and aluminum vs cast iron difference. Why don't you take the anemic 89 GM TPI, 5.0/5.7 motor and compare it? Yeah, a lot more even playing ground? Now don't get me wrong, the LS1 was a great motor for its time.
@HiFlow50 dont get me wrong, the fox-body is a great platform to build on. I have owned 3 through highschool before joing the darkside (f-bodys) . the tpi is actully a really good platform, the tbi on the other hand is pure junk. My point is that in todays market, where both the 89 technology is available with the 98+ a consumer may be better off buying a used 98 ls1 f-body. but again this striclty comes down to ford vs gm. Im into technology, give me a 03 terminator over any lol!
I'd love to own a car like that! It's a V8 right? I've tried to find an 80's Mustang in Sweden (were I live), but they have all rusted away. The older ones and the new ones are way to expencive. Cool car, thanx for the video.
If I'm not mistaken those are MA plates, where in MA ya from? I grew up in Wilbraham

@HiFlow50 I know people laugh when you say you have a 305 or 5.0 TPI, people still compare if there car is quick by trying to race a 5.0 fox body!

Hey, I got an '89 5.0 and it's in my 64 Falcon, the engine is bone stock. What do you suggest I do to it? Thanks and cool car.
