  • can someone send me a working preset when i try to do it on my massive sounds completly different =(

  • thanks man you by far do the best tutorials

  • Wait what preset did you use?

  • u r a beast :)

  • my initial presets in massive are different when i go 2 new sounds than from the 1's u have in ur tutorials. i pirated massive ( am saving up to buy the real thing ) would that cause that to happen? PLEASE HELP :( thanks!

  • I have a problem: when I open massive with ableton (8) I can't get no sound at all... When I open massive by itself, it sounds just fine but when I try to do it in ableton, it doesn't work... Can somebody tell me what to do? Thank you

  • where can i get the original presets?

  • Hey what software are you using ???? I really want to know thanks :)

  • @xDJxFLOWx it says in the description - Ableton Live.

  • Please Do the Synth from "With You Friends (Long Drive)" It starts at 4:14 exactly

  • @crieone I agree with you 100% BUT Skrillex is not the only popular electronica artist that uses this type of synth. Many real DUBSTEP artists use this like Zomboy and Flux Pavilion.

  • its so funny

    skrillex doesnt even use massive

  • @dudearlo yeah, he does.. he uses FM8, Massive, and a bunch of other plugins, if you dont believe me i have a video of him using it.

  • we have too many skrillex's

  • Thanks so much. Subscribed! <3

  • what program is this

  • @minecrafter001 Ableton Live

  • /watch?v=0HvfQYiNubg

    mines kinda originall... L:

  • i bet this is how LMFAO mad there party rock synth to. Awesome work man :D

  • that sounds like shit

  • @huhjustin Sounds dead on it, Idiot.

  • @ItDawnedUponUs Lol clearly you don't have an ear for music and you obviously don't have a good sound system.

  • That's a really nice snare sound :) super interested to know how you made that nice cripsy snare. Mind sharing a .wav of it? :)

  • @srihariathrey i want that too

  • Comment removed

  • What are the 3 oscillators assigned to? :/

  • This one is perfect

  • awesome man. cheers.

  • Hi! I have downloaded the trial for ableton live. I'm going to use this trial and find out if i wanna buy ableton live.

So far its pretty hard to understand, did you learn it quickly? Is it easy or hard to get into?

And do i have to download Massive? Is it free?

  • @ChilliDubstep No, Massive costs like 200$, but one of my good friends has a tutorial where you can download it for free. Look up "How to Get & Install Massive 1.2.1 On a Mac For Free [Ableton Live Tips]".

Also, You shoudlen't Buy Ableton, you can get it for free.

  • @ChilliDubstep you can get ableton and massive free of a torrent site using cracks

  • @ChilliDubstep lollll ableton live 8 costs 400 bucks. massive costs 200. goodluck with that..

  • @Flowgeta I need a car first.

  • thats the 8bit version lol

  • The glide doesn't seems to be doing anything for me.

  • Great Sound. Thx 4 Tutorial:) Make more !:D

  • Epic! :D Thanks Mate, Have aloways loved this synth, great tutorial, sounds damn good :) Exactly the Reason i Subbed!

  • A sound like that can easily be made using any good subtractive synth

  • wellllll done my friend

  • DUDE I FUCKING LOVE THAT SOUND YOU MADE HELLA GOOD JOB BREH!

  • I've been following your tutorials for a while. I have been using a pirated fl studio, lately it has been bugging me that I have been, it makes me just as bad as a burglar. So I uninstalled it but now I can't afford it, I'm only 15, and my parents have a hard enough time with bills and such :(

  • Subsribed!

  • So basically turn everything all the way up.

  • Ill try to do this today tutorial as soon as i get out from work i hate my job btw lol

  • and once your done with that just boost your master... and jizz your pants

  • sounds great! how did you achieve this kick and snare sound?

  • This is the best one yet.

  • Gorgeous tutorial though. I learned a lot on navigating Massive.

  • Third note in second measure should be lower.

  • THANKS!!!!YOURR GREAT!! FROM JAPAN

  • @HDeadmau5 why not :)

  • @phortysiks well if they get biscuits i want one

  • @phortysiks Well since you're giving out them free biscuits, can i have a foxes jammy cream? :DD

  • this is way cool, but why does everyone want to sound like skrillex?!??

-be yourselves and be your own sound! xD

  • @crierone I kinda agree with you, but watching these videos you learn really good tips and tricks on sound development, with that you can eventually start making your own sounds

  • @ElementzSR tru dat!

~learning from all these is very helpful! ;]

  • @crierone The way to find your own sound is to emulate others. In the start of your development that is. Great way to learn. That's why you can always hear other bands influence on most other bands. There are exceptions, of course, but generally you always get a hint of the bands that influenced them. They do the same in music schools. What was done before you came along is important, and the best type of learning material.

  • @ronnysoeberg : tru, tru... ;]

  • @crierone Im sure skrillex wanted to sound like someone then took it to the next level. Its called evolving. Im sure you try and sound like people but put you're style on it.

  • @crierone sorry didnt know people weren't allowed some inspiration

  • @crierone Skrillex isn't the only person to use this sound. Just because you're using something that other people have used in the past doesn't mean you're unoriginal. You learn what you can and adapt from that.

  • @crierone So what led you to this video Mr. Original?!

  • @crierone the better you understand others the better you can understand yourself and dig deeper into your creativity.

  • @crierone To learn producing and creating your own songs it can help to imitate your idols first to learn the ropes or get bearings and then move onto creating your own unique sound. Let's face it... learning is basically imitating or replicating the actions of knowledge that someone else has. Very few people are discoverer's so to speak. But I agree when you're ready, definitely become yourself and demonstrate imagination. :)

  • @crierone Cuz he's the only one that doesn't sound repetitive and stands out the most?

  • @crierone because no one knows how, and that's the case, because no one will tell anyone how.

  • @crierone .......

  • Mate the Key tracking thing you did rules, Iv been using massive for 2 years and only ever used the macro to the right of that... :D nice one!

  • @mrhanover but that way you don't learn anything

  • Wouldn't it be much better if you saved the file then uploaded it to megaupload or something then put it in the description so it saves everyone's time?

  • @mrhanover u dont learn anythign from that though :P

  • @JHpr0duction lol i know that but its easier to get things done faster...

  • my "time " knob doesnt works :?

  • @ArtLinez it it isnt working you might want to try going to the voicing tab and changing the options from polyphonic to monorotate and legato triller... then play two notes overlapping to glide from one to the other.

  • @InertiaDubstep oh..ty :)

  • @InertiaDubstep Wow, I was having the same problem as the other guy..thank you man!

  • @maxiandroll The skrillex reptile bass is the preset Loop Skanner in Massive. Just turn off Osc 2 and turn down the bars in LFO 5. Thats the basic sound. The EQing and rest is up to you.

  • Really good tutorial mate, well done... thanks for the patch!

  • @maxiandroll YES PLZZZZ!

  • Pro hints and tips: Sylenth_1.

    Still nice remake

  • I started using Massive recently, I can get a basic bass type sound. I'm finding your tutorial quite helpful right now.

Not because of the end result, but because you describe what your current action will do. (Like when you described what the 'Restart via Gate' will do.

I'm the kind of person that would rather learn how the whole thing works than how to achieve a certain sound, because if I know how it works, I know exactly how to achieve whatever sound I'm thinking of... most of the time

  • sylenth 1 - LD Screamer preset

  • Subscribed! =]

  • Thanks, One of the best at clear tutorials on youtube. subbed

  • I can put out my version off the Scary monsters and nice sprites intro on utube. i can promise u a sound that sound 100 times better than this;)

  • or u just DL sylenth 1 xD

  • i have been using fl studio for 2 months now and i want to change! everyone says that fl studio sucks so i want to start with ableton because both skrillex and deadmau5 is using ableton

  • skrillex said he used a preset in sylenth and slightly tweaked it for the scary monsters and nice sprites lead. this is pretty close and good for people who dont have sylenth but if oyu have it or can torrent it you can get the exact sound

  • @KungPowCheekin The synth in SMANS is the LD Screamer preset in Sylenth1 with some chorus and other FX.

  • @FallofIcarusOfficial yes just as i listed before. a sylenth1 preset

  • Doesn't having two voices, without altering the panning or tuning of them from the voicing tab, just increase the volume from creating the same sound twice?

  • Step 1 : Turn CAPTIONS On;

Step 2 : Enjoy hidden messages.

  • thank you, this is a very good tut. subscribed.

  • haha nice i love how u copyed the rythem too no one usualy makes the effort XD

  • Holy shit I'm listening to Skrillex's track right now and I honestly can't tell the difference o_0 Are you his brother or something?

  • Teach me how to do notes

  • What are the notes?

  • Im serious I do have better lead than he does. Send me a message if you want the kds file

  • @hi90ify Who gives a fuck?

  • Great tutorial. More of a prog house fan myself, will definitely be looking at those tuts next! :D

  • Wow! great tutorial, great job mate.

One QUESTION tho: Whenever there's a graph with white lines on massive my lines aren't white they r just grey... why is that? What can i do to change it or does it affect the sound? thanks

  • @maxiandroll oh god yes.

  • Awesome man, thanks!

  • i made a much better lead

  • @hi90ify Congratulations. Have a biscuit.

  • @phortysiks hey! i want a biscuit too!

  • dont make this one then

  • @hi90ify upload it and prove it if you have, and why you have it if you arent even a producer

  • I remade the entire song up to the drop see here /watch?v=GeqableQ7fs

  • BIG UP for telling me what causes that my wobble is changing while playing! THANKS SIR.

  • @maxiandroll now that would be lovely wouldn't it.

  • fuckin boss

  • Well done man!

  • awesome !

  • This is the closest attempt yet, and it's SUPER FUCKING close. Kudos, man. Thank you SO much.

  • How do you get the glide right? I increased that knob but it didn't work...

  • @BoltcutterCT Change ur voicing thing to monophon if its set to polyphon. it worked for me

  • @HumboldtJuggalo94 Thanks man, it worked.

  • can you make a tuturial on how to use the skrillex lead

  • Keep making these man, this the best one I've heard!

  • That is a seriously good tutorial, the sound is perfect!

  • soo close man, it sounds just like it !!! wow thanks!

  • thank you very much!!! such a nice one!

  • out of all the tutorials about this, this is the closets

  • Do you need Ableton Live to do this?

  • @BoltcutterCT Any DAW that will host VST's will work (Ableton, Cubase, FL Studio etc)

  • @phortysiks Okay, cool, cuz I have Mixcraft. Some people's tuts require that you have VSTs or other effects onboard a DAW :P

  • great one!
