  • I believe his name was spelled "Redd" and also lived in Santa Rosa CA. I met him in the early 70's and spent about 15-20 minutes in conversation. He was playing in concert at the old California theater. I bought a VHS, and asked that he sign it for me, which he did. Great fun!

  • Pandit was a genius - plain and simple. The fact that he was beautiful and had amazing charisma was an added plus. He was not specifically "African American". He was an American who's extraction was European, Native American and African - for those are interested. I think his talent and mystic are legendary and stand alone.

  • A guys gotta do whatever it takes to get in the entertainment industry. None the less, I trip on his organ skills. The man knew what he was doing. If it took changing his name and looking exotic and mysterious, then so be it.

  • BTW, if there's anything in your collection you are trying to get rid of - let me know.

  • In the time in which John Roland Reed became Juan Rolando->Korla Pandit, identity was not the tried and true reality show beast it is today. You punish yourself needlessly for buying in to what was essentially incredible craftsmanship. Reed is like a magician who establishes his identity so assuringly that it can only be false. Beautiful. I wonder if Michael Jackson wasn't supremely jealous at the natural acquiline features of Mr. Reed. He succeeded where Jackson couldn't. A total new identity.
