I followed Dutch and his band from back in the early 70's, met him in Yellowknife, NWT and the Rec Hall he was the salt of the earth, and he sure was proud of Garrett. The Apple don't fall far from the tree. Sure do miss Dutchie...truly, the Prime Minister of the Blues
Many times After a couple of drinks at the Duke in Toronto, we'd head over and catch Dutch at Alberts Hall. One night Jeff Healy joined them and played 'Nine Below Zero' My favourite blues moment of all time. Miss them both
Saw Dutchy play a few times at Smooth Hermans in Sydney and at that time he had a hot, tight backing group. He really gave a powerhouse performance that rocked the whole building!!!
I`ve seen Dutchie a 1000 times...wish i could see him 1 more.Ah the days of going to the bar for lunch on a Saturday after partying the night before and catching that afternoon set...
