  • Love you Carole- always! ;-)

  • That weirdness you speak of is called phrasing.

  • I don't know what it takes to please 8 people. Curmudgeons.

  • fastatico, carole king é maravilhosa e uma das melhores compositoras que eu já ouvi, seria um sonho assistir um show dela aqui no brasil

  • I saw her at the Zoo in OKC, Top notch performer. Her list of songs she has written for others goes on and on. Love her music.

  • id forgotten how good she is

  • The drummer needs to learn how to tighten his tom tom drums ... they were all loose and about ready to crumble ...

  • @ledamate

noticed that as well, he has a really strong sense of rhythm but he plays weird somehow

  • a true queen of rock and roll!

  • This performance is utterly AMAZING! This is the piano part she wrote for the Chiffons' 1963 production! She wrote this song along with her husband Gerry Goffin, 1 of 118 pop hits she wrote/co-wrote that hit the top 100! A Billboard writer named her most successful female songwriter 1955-1999 in 2000. It's always fantastic to see an artist with so much talent performing their own compositions! My channel is a tribute to the best of a century of music, lists for every year since 1900. chuck

  • I saw her live (possibly with this band) doing this as part of a complete show in Manchester, England, in 1982. Really great performance.

  • @Astonyshing

I saw her twice at Hammersmith Odeon, London around early 1982.

She'd just released the LP ''Óne To One"'. In her band was Eric Johnson on guitar and he's on this clip as well.

  • I FOUND ONE FINE DAY THIS SONG FOREVER.

  • I'm 19 years old, but I know Carole King is my soul sister!

  • @moogan331 I'm 20 and I grew up on music like this! better than most of the stuff out now!

  • One fine lady ,One fine song..One fine day...

  • Bless first album we bought living in digs and first married, superb album, togerher with John Lennon .trying to get the record player to work

  • 4 people didn't have a fine day.

  • She is ONE OF A KIND! So AMAZING! We will never hear this again! Music is not the same! Ms. Carole King..Keep on singing! We love you and James way sooo much!

  • she is still a fantastic performer did anyone see her last year on tour with the great JAMES TAYLOR...she was sensational

  • Geeez! How much do we owe Carole King for so many years of some of the greatest "growing up" songs of our life? Thanks a million Carole!

  • No one has ever done this song better than Carole King herself.. including the Chiffons

  • @RichHaefeli Carole King, the undiscovered, underappreciated, and unquestioned QUEEN OF ROCK AND ROLL. FO EVAH!

  • @RichHaefeli: true

  • carole is actually really pretty!

  • @bigcherry99 ... Oh my God ... Maybe you are too young to remember, but the photo of her on her mulit platinum "Tapestry" album was so gorgeously striking ..... the quintessential hippie type "cutie" with that mane of hair ..... The image is seared into my memories .... Carole ? ... oh yes indeed "pretty" !

  • I love her piano on this song. Two of my favorite songs were ones that she did not have hits with herself... this one and "Take Good Care of My Baby".

  • @eemmeennddeell She did well with this one. I think #11 on the Billboard Top 100 in 79-one of the first Carole King piano hooks I learned way back.

  • This was Beastly.

  • This video makes me smile everytime I watch it. Carole King is the real deal.

  • thats not the original version

  • Carole King for President! I enjoy her renditions of her own stuff a lot more than those of artists like mrs. Franklin or Dion or who knows!

  • She's awesome. God bless Carole for writing such great music!

  • I can do this...too bad you didn't get to see it.

  • @kirkbzzz1 What a strange comment.. if this was said by a white person about a black woman... the whole balck population would be up in rage screamin -- racist comment! .. Just shows who the real racists are.

  • Love Carole! I wish you would post ''It's A War'' from the same performance :)

  • In my opinion this is the best version!

  • This is one of the most delightful things I have watched on youtube. I love Carole King. What a talent!

  • I like The Chiffons recording better. But, this is really great to see!

  • Carole King is a genius. If you read up on all those beautiful songs she wrote, particularly in the sixties you'd be totally shocked. I had Freddie Scott's record Hey Girl". We used to read the names of the writers on songs we liked as teenagers. I saw Carole King's name quite a lot on the Shirelles songs. I even think she wrote Locomotion by Little Eva. Stellar! Thanks for sharing this one.

  • oh she's gooooooooood :DDDD

  • Many thanks .. I love this!!!

  • Many thanks .. I love this!!!

  • Saw her live show with James Taylor and she STILL ROCKS after all these years! Take it from me, kids...Carole King IS and has ALWAYS BEEN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

    <3

  • @AlidaO Well, I wouldn't exactly say that Carole ROCKS, but I will say she's definitely more under the rock category than say, ummm, Lady CaCa, Britney, Ke$ha, Katy Perry or St!nk.

  • one of the greatest Rock Songs ever. Hands down

  • There will never be another Carole King or another Neil Diamond

  • Music that makes you happy!

Carol, thank you for the gift

and thank you bornin för this upload.

  • she has her own voice....very especially ...so unmistakably

    ...thank u for uploading!

  • One fine day you'll come to me .

  • LOVE Carole King....one of the best 60's songs ever written!

  • What I 'wanna know is where did that great piano riff come from!?

  • I'm surprised that I haven't made a comment before now. This a great, high energy presentation. You looked surprised at the audience response. Don't be, you earned it... Love ya'

  • Looks like the drummer needed to tighted a few of his tom drums.

  • @ledamate do you not think the drummer for carol king is aware of how loose or tight the skins should be>

  • I saw her perform with James Taylor in Philly a few months ago -- phenomenal.

Words don't express how much I love her and her music; a genuine artist and human being.

  • When I was 14 I first heard this song. Never knew, that it was Carole's composition. And felt so good with "The Locomotion". What a great world to have YouTube and discover all these great artists and songs! The Chiffons are nice, but Carole King is a giant. I'm working on a CD with love songs. I think this one is a must be.

  • Who is the guy playing the saxaphone? He had an awesome solo part. I am becoming a big fan of Carole, amazing piano and singing skills.

  • Genius, nothing but pure musical genius.

  • Sorry Chiffons - Nobody does it like the lady that wrote it.

  • Oh my god!

Did Carole King write this song?

It's one of my favorites. Always gets me high.

  • Yes she did...Along many more that she wrote for others.

  • @1KSarah

She (music) and her then-husband and songwriting partner Gerry Goffin (lyrics) co-wrote it together.

  • @1KSarah She not only wrote it,she played piano on the original Chiffons' hit of this song.

  • Straight up brilliant. The woman is a treasure. The backup vocalists look familiar. Anybody know who they are?

  • Comment removed

  • I love the way she plays the piano with authority, especially on the studio version.
