Hey everyone, not to try to advertise my channel or anything. But I just started making videos about health, fitness, and maybe even beauty. Pretty much anything.. So if you would like to check it out, I'd love to chat and share tips!
Oh and I forgot, i've never been much of a soda drinker, the only thing soda I drink is Mountain Dew. I only have those every once in a while. I used to have energy drinks a few times a week, but i've given those up completely.
My husband and I try to limit eating out to once a week, mostly to save money but of course it also helps with eating healthy. And when we do go out, I choose healthier things. My number one thing I do is try to drink 8 cups of water everyday, and I have an app on my tablet where I can track how much I drink and it reminds me in case I forget. It also helps that I have a small energetic puppy who needs exercise, so I take her on walks everyday.
some ppl do have to "stop themselves" and that's why dieting makes life miserable. some ppl are forced to eat only things they hate. you're lucky that the things you like to eat don't make you fat. thx for sharing =)
@egocentress If I ate an Oreo I would feel myself gaining weight lol. My body can't handle stuff like that. I haven't had fast food in YEARS and don't eat junk or drink pop, and I don't drink alcohol often. A lot of this is genetic also...
I love this video..I agree that people don't realize how much control they really have. its almost easier to fat healthy cause in your head you know what's good and not. I think people just get lazy and don't care, and that's why there are so many people with weight issues
I think the only person I know that eats the same thing everyday is my hubby, the only day he changes is one meal on a sunday, he's been doing it for 3 years, he does bodybuilding. I love frosted flakes :-) yum, It's self control with food with me lol. One thing I dont eat is fries I only have them like once a month :-) great video. Great advice, but 5lb weights will NOT cause you to bulk up. So many girls are afraid of looking manly. I lift weights 4 times a week and I am not bulky. I also lift heavy. The people you see who are bulky are often fitness competitiors and spend 4 hours a day in the gym and dehydrate themselves for competitions. Often when you see them in real life they look like normal people, just very fit!
So don't be afraid to use heavier dumbells and more often!
We totally snack about the same and like the same weird things...but I'm way bigger but I have a portion control problem. Or rather had for some reason my appetite has changed, does that happen to anyone else other than me from time to time? Is it a female thing or what?
I totally agree with you about the diet and eating habits!!!!! Finally someone normal with common sense!!!!!! You always see these girls on diets and depriving themselves from this and that... and I completely agree with you. Just don't eat it everyday! Just use your common sense. Don't be scared of food! And a McDonalds meal once in a while won't kill anyone!!!! Thanks for the great video!!! Everyone should watch it!!! Moderation is the KEY! ;-)

Omg! That puppy is soooooooooooo ADORABLE!!!!!! and I am the same with milk! Ever since I started drinking skim milk all of the other ones taste nasty! My mom bought 2 percent by accident once and it tasted like cream to me! I didn't drink it! :)
thanks, i feel like i can relate to this video since i just started working out like a month ago. i feel like it also depends what body type you have because some of it is influenced by your genes. i hate dieting, but i've been trying to eat healthier.

i agree. your body craves what it gets. i gave up soda while back now i drink water and just yesterday i sipped my husbands soda and it was like overwhelming for me.
Great video! Very insightful. I think it will give those people trying to lose weight or lose fat a healthy, sustainable change in diet and lifestyle to achieve those goals.
Im 16 and throughout my life have always been skinny & eaten loads of food!
Even when i started puberty and everyone was like 'food is now going to go staight to your hips' - i developed more curves but never put on weight!
I was always very sporty but recently because of exams ive had to cut down on all the sport i do. i was worried because i started to put on weight- but i now know not to suddenly change my diet, but just to go for a run every now and then :)
@maisieannxx Puberty doesn't make you gain weight as much as hitting 20 and your metabolism naturally changing will (if you're female... for males it hits later, 24-25), and also getting into partying and drinking around 21 (or earlier!) will do it as well.
i've noticed that when i start drinking gingerale once a day i NEED to have it at least that often, then when i don't buy it after a bit i don't even think about it lol
lollllll I call it FAGE too instead of Fah-Yeh! It's the best brand of greek yogurt by far!! I'm addicted to the plain 2% or fat-free kind with a little agave nectar, fresh fruit and cereal mixed in (usually kashi heart to heart) for breakfast! Thats my daily staple in the morning and it keeps me full and energized until lunch.
Thank you for the video! I used to eat the way you did, but I lost myself along the way... been almost in a yo-yo diet for a year because of stress. It was a nice reminder and I always thought it was common sense too.
You are so cute. And I completely agree with you. You're right, moderation is key, and counting calories is completely counter-productive for a long-term healthy weight. I used to have an eating disorder, and had to completely re-learn how to eat in therapy. Now I will eat a little bit of everything, never weigh myself, or count calories, and I'm the fittest and healthiest I've ever been. You're definitely giving great advice for young girls and women out there. :)

Fat is NOT bad for you, trans fats (man made) are bad, but saturated fat from animals and animal products (as well as natural plant oils) is GOOD for your body and does not equal fat in the blood, and has been proven to raise HDL and lower LDL. "Fat Head" is a good documentary that is pretty educational and entertaining (free on hulu) and there are many books out there that prove what I've said. "Why We Get Fat" by Gary Taubes is one that I personally like.
@SHINeeTaeminKeyLOVER I agree! it sucks :( I don't have younger siblings but my mom always buys junk food for my dad (lol). It's so hard not to eat the junk food, its so tempting and what. I always end up cheating on my diet. :(
You are totally right about counting calories. My dietician and I decided to try it for me. I lost 6 lbs in 4 weeks but some days I forgot to check my calories so I gained 1 lb back. I found that if I pre-make snacks its easier for me. Like I cut up carrots, celery, cucumber, cherry tomatoes etc....and put them in a large tupperware. When I get ready for work I just grab a handful and put them in a bag to go!
I've been kind of OCD about what I eat, and sadly I've been crash dieting since I was in high school 'cause I always thought I wasn't skinny enough. It's really about finding a good balance between what's good for your body and what's good for your soul (junk food). I have some friends who have never been overweight in their life and complain about how they eat. I just think, don't lie you can admit you have good enough genes to eat what you want once a week. @ilikejumprope Well a good metabolism does not tone arms. I think that being active throughout my entire childhood playing sports certainly helped my body develop a certain way and started me off on the right track. Some people's metabolism is certainly more active/effective than others, but as I said, your metabolism's effectiveness depends on a lot of things- How often you eat and what you are eating. It all goes back to eating smart and healthy which I do. :)

@SHINeeTaeminKeyLOVER I live at home and my mother buys all sorts of crap, like cookies and stuff. You need motivation and a lot of disciplin to resist it. It can be done though, you just have to reaaally want to be healthy.
im 5'9, i used to weight 170lbs when i was 14-15. I know some people might say that's a healthy weight for me, but i had the double chin and the flabby thighs, the hanging stomach and big butt. wasn't fun. When i was 16 i was going to the gym, eating waayyy better, it wasn`t working, so i gave up! but a few months went by and i realised that my better eating habbits was making me loose weight! i lost it slowlyy, by just eating right. in about 7 to 9 months i lost 40lbs! I am now 127lbs! HOORAY!!

Even when i started puberty and everyone was like 'food is now going to go staight to your hips' - i developed more curves but never put on weight!
I was always very sporty but recently because of exams ive had to cut down on all the sport i do. i was worried because i started to put on weight- but i now know not to suddenly change my diet, but just to go for a run every now and then :)

@maisieannxx Puberty doesn't make you gain weight as much as hitting 20 and your metabolism naturally changing will (if you're female... for males it hits later, 24-25), and also getting into partying and drinking around 21 (or earlier!) will do it as well.

i've noticed that when i start drinking gingerale once a day i NEED to have it at least that often, then when i don't buy it after a bit i don't even think about it lol

lollllll I call it FAGE too instead of Fah-Yeh! It's the best brand of greek yogurt by far!! I'm addicted to the plain 2% or fat-free kind with a little agave nectar, fresh fruit and cereal mixed in (usually kashi heart to heart) for breakfast! Thats my daily staple in the morning and it keeps me full and energized until lunch.

Thank you for the video! I used to eat the way you did, but I lost myself along the way... been almost in a yo-yo diet for a year because of stress. It was a nice reminder and I always thought it was common sense too.

You are so cute. And I completely agree with you. You're right, moderation is key, and counting calories is completely counter-productive for a long-term healthy weight. I used to have an eating disorder, and had to completely re-learn how to eat in therapy. Now I will eat a little bit of everything, never weigh myself, or count calories, and I'm the fittest and healthiest I've ever been. You're definitely giving great advice for young girls and women out there. :)

Fat is NOT bad for you, trans fats (man made) are bad, but saturated fat from animals and animal products (as well as natural plant oils) is GOOD for your body and does not equal fat in the blood, and has been proven to raise HDL and lower LDL. "Fat Head" is a good documentary that is pretty educational and entertaining (free on hulu) and there are many books out there that prove what I've said. "Why We Get Fat" by Gary Taubes is one that I personally like.

You are totally right about counting calories. My dietician and I decided to try it for me. I lost 6 lbs in 4 weeks but some days I forgot to check my calories so I gained 1 lb back. I found that if I pre-make snacks its easier for me. Like I cut up carrots, celery, cucumber, cherry tomatoes etc....and put them in a large tupperware. When I get ready for work I just grab a handful and put them in a bag to go!

I've been kind of OCD about what I eat, and sadly I've been crash dieting since I was in high school 'cause I always thought I wasn't skinny enough. It's really about finding a good balance between what's good for your body and what's good for your soul (junk food). I have some friends who have never been overweight in their life and complain about how they eat. I just think, don't lie you can admit you have good enough genes to eat what you want once a week. Thanks for posting this! :)

@ilikejumprope Well a good metabolism does not tone arms. I think that being active throughout my entire childhood playing sports certainly helped my body develop a certain way and started me off on the right track. Some people's metabolism is certainly more active/effective than others, but as I said, your metabolism's effectiveness depends on a lot of things- How often you eat and what you are eating. It all goes back to eating smart and healthy which I do. :)

im 5'9, i used to weight 170lbs when i was 14-15. I know some people might say that's a healthy weight for me, but i had the double chin and the flabby thighs, the hanging stomach and big butt. wasn't fun. When i was 16 i was going to the gym, eating waayyy better, it wasn`t working, so i gave up! but a few months went by and i realised that my better eating habbits was making me loose weight! i lost it slowlyy, by just eating right. in about 7 to 9 months i lost 40lbs! I am now 127lbs! HOORAY!!
