Not at all...I don't like their methods and were they put our guys and what they ask them to do. Their job is to KILL...that is it. You go in and you get out! Not stabilize areas, keep the piece standing around like targets or deliver pizza.
Iraq and our current mission in Afghanistan have nothing to do with Bin Laden or terrorism unless you are trying to create more of it.
I get your jist. But how does Afghanistan have nothing to do with it when its the main homebase for the Taliban, which the leader is Bin Laden? We drove out the Taliban in less than a month in the beginning, because the war had the peoples support. Now nobody supports it and we're struggling.
Ty so much for putting this up and for the video response. I just put up another hard hitting one on the war again. 5 Stars, faved and posted this one to my Blog. It is Empire building but a bunch of egotistical meglomaniacs who are entirely out of control. If the Army all came home what the heck would they tell them guys when they see what has happened here? I think they are scared to bring em home now. It's why they classed them as terrorists.
Dont forget that people like Brzeninski / Rumsfeld / Cheney can think like they do in relation to the "Grand Chessboard" because they are part of the system & this elite group & disconnected from average US joe blow + they have to much time in indulge in this stuff.
I can only think of 2 examples in history where the power elites have been removed & direction changed in a short period of time (Russian & French Revolution)
As C.Johnson has expressed in his trilogy an important dynamic was set in place at the start of the Cold War & succesive governments have made chioces to pump money & manpower into the military/industrial complex to make it a multiheaded monster thats sucking energy out of the economy & difficult to change.
Somebody has to standup & "reset" US priorities to more important objectives like dramatically reducing dependence on oil & coal for electricity generation / transport - Rebuilding public transport infrastructive - Investing significantly in multiple renewable energy projects - reforming the healthcare system so that low income singles & families are not forced into financial hardship if they get sick - raise energy efficiency standards for houses, industrial plants & office buildings...on & on
One sure way to do this is to cut off the money supply to the House of War & send a clear political message that protecting US interests world wide via military Power is no longer priority No 1
Irrespective of what Afghan policy Obama comesup with. Sadly the only way the US military machine will leave Afghanistan is if the power brockers & pen pushers at the Pentagon & Dept Defence (i.e House of War) as well as the industry contractors decide its in their interest to leave.
There are 371 billionaires in America and yet we, the people, who have given them their wealth can't seem to understand that we're the only ones getting swindled out here by these self affirmed egotistical mutants. While we fight for a name, a flag, and an image that they constantly throw in our faces making us believe we were "born Americans", you look into the sea of the majority who pay taxes, lower class to middle class, and realize that American is nothing but a brand to them, like Pepsi.
In order to change this country that most of us say is headed in the wrong direction, we have to annually, monthly or yearly, refuse to do what the government tells us to do in the interest of the upper class citizens of this country, the billionaires and multi-millionaires who refuse the reciprocate their funds directly back to the masses who buy their products.
It has to be 50,000 to 100,000 citizens at the start of the AP project that should run at a decided period of time, amongst those who have volunteered. If the period of time for a particular targeted product/products persists long enough eventually corporate heads will notice, try to influence or threaten the people through media to begin purchasing again.
If those methods don't work and the protest continues they will be forced to reciprocate funds directly to the hands of the people.
I'm a firm believer that its irresponsible for financial power players to intervene with other countries financial and economic matters before cleaning up the problems that exist at home, the actions our country has taken to intervene in other countries for financial power is unacceptable so every now and then the people need to give the "elite" a wake up call.
Thank you haggsbo for this video, as you can see it inspired me to rant some ideas that I hope will have a positive impact on anyone who reads them, thank you again.
Good video. If you question the notion of USA Empire I would direct you to the work of E. Luttwak who talks of the change in the SPQR military strategy as it progressed from republic to empire. The Romans nvr talked of Empire until they realized they had to consider the problem of maintaining multi, military ventures abroad for the sake of national interest. In time they needed to change economy, emphasis of laws and benefactors of those components to maintain the staus quo. How'd that work out?
Cheer up. The republic has been dead since Lincoln and the free market since 1913. This is just the death throws of a falling empire. Just spread love and enlightenment and hope we can avoid an all out dictatorship in the coming years.
I would like to sit back and laugh with amusement watching the people bury themselves (like during the last presidential race) but having kids makes it hard.
I was not advocating "sitting back" but laughter is essential in these times.
"We cannot change THE world, we can only change OUR world." Joseph Campbell.
How much have you studied up on ideas like agorism? The idea based on the use of counter economic markets so that consent and capital can be held from the immoral state which uses tax revenue to fund such unconstitutional actions as what's going on in Iraq/Afghanistan.
I read and enjoy libertarian type authors especially as it relates to economics...Hayek, Bovard, Rand, Spooner, Bastiet and others.
Looking into Agorism, I would really like to read Alongside Night. Can I get the point from that or would you recommend jumping right into Samuel Konkin's stuff.
i feel very little desire to comment on any video these days. However, i have tears in my eyes listening to your thoughs because I feel EXACTLY the same. The war is being 'maintained' because it make a few people a LOT of money. Please, buy tinned food/silver and prepare because the USA Empire is soon going to collapse. It is streached like an elastic band, ans is about to snap. This was a great video. I wish you all the very best. But, please, DO, prepare.
I agree, our wars in the ME have to be doing a lot more harm than good. I just wonder why people aren't expressing much outrage about it. Back during Vietnam I was a little kid but I remember people protesting all the time and screaming and yelling about it. People nowadays seem to be numb. I just hope that when the dollar crashes that means an end to this madness.
I'm saying were not a true empire like Rome and Ancient greece. If we were a true empire we would be conquering nations and annexing them as part of our country. Just cause our military is everywhere doesn't mean were an empire, were just meddling in everyones business.
Are you forgetting 9/11?
