@immolateus No particular issues, it works nice and it sounds good! I bought it 6 years ago and still had no problems! anyway, it's a cheap guitar so..no big expectations on it! cheers immo!!
@FCTwente75 Actually it is a great looking..better than an epiphone I should say! Maybe the painting isn't like a gibson les paul, but to me the glossy finish looks cool!
@MetalUpYourAssFuck absolutly i also bought it. it plays way better than the gibson melody makers and the gibson sg standard is not better than the JD sg either.
@RitaArmstrongTV Yes. They are essentially a good guitar. The lead guitarist in my band uses one. They are the best LP copy you can get and some of us argue that they are better than the Epiphones. Be aware though that getting the pickups changed down the track is a really good way of making the guitar sound just like a Gibson.
@0oDewyo0 Hi Dewy! The song is an acoustic version of a song called "Judgments", from the next coming out albumof my band, Resolve! Find us on the link inside the infos of this video! Cheers!!
All these people asking if this guitar (J&D) is better than a squier. But I don't think you can compare squier to THIS (or another LP style guitar) J&D, if you listen to the SOUND of the guitar. The difference between the single coil and humbucker pickups is to big. And as for the quality: I have a 222 euro J&D LP guitar and a 99 euro squier bullet strat . The squier was set up BETTER (J&D had a buzzing string and bad intonation), and the squier sounds great!
@Tijntjuhdaman It's an interesting opinion dude! i think squier is a great & well knew company, so they can produce better guitars for a low budget..any way I prefear the les paul look and the humbucker sound..and I discovered this great guitar! obviously I know that this is NOT a Gibson, but it's for sure better than an Epiphone! You also might think about the music you're gonna play on the guitar!!
dude that riff from 1:10 to 1:40 ...that was awesome !! dumb question..but could you maybe tab it - im preety new into guitars and i am searching for great sounding riffs to learn ...and that was one!
@fuckyouXXL Thanks a lot man! The riff is an old intro version of the song "Judgments" of my band (Resolve), so I can't tab it, 'cause it's copyrighted! btw our CDalbum is coming out the second half of october (follow the link inside the infos of this video!). Cheers!!
im thinkin of buy a Jack & danny deluxe, some guys say jack & danny deluxe, and some jack & dann guitars are better than epiphone standard , It's true?
@MnhTnBoY I only had an SG copy by Epiphone loooong time ago...and it was a total cr*p!impossible to put all the notes in tune and really bad sounding..so I usually prefear in not buying epiphone in general! But it's just a personal idea..just try guitars with your own hands!! Cheers
i ve the same colour and same style les paul standart copy ,in my opinion these guitars for beginners, but i learnt so many techniques on it,i can say if you wanna start with les paul for cheap price ok you can buy it,but if youre experienced then i dont recomend to buy it!!
I'm thinking of buying one solely for the looks, it's super cheap and I'm also thinking of changing the pickups... not sure with what yet, but kinda need that Les Paul heavyness and massive tone, overdriven. I'm aware that this J&D could never reach the LP tone, but any suggestions what pickups might be good with the above specifications?
Thank you dude! I played in clean setting bridge and middle position 2 songs I compose with my band, and in neck position is the rythm part of "Afternoon in Paris"&"Autumn Leaves". Distorted parts are just for fun (with a Smashing Pumpkin riff)
The J&D's are comparable (some people including myself would say that they are better quality) to the Epiphones for nearly half the price. The pickups are the only concern because they howl and not in a good way. Replacing or waxing them is probably necessary.
J&D are a verry good "no name" brand... i have a Les Deluxe and its realy solid, the sound is great...hand on heart its a fantastic guitar for its price
and to all you "brand whores", owning a 3000$ guitar dosent make you any more of a player then anyone ealse so get over it
i use mine mainly for recording...the pickups have realy good tone...sometimes even too much...they sometimes pick up the signal from my wireless mouse :D
but yea, the build quality is top notch...i havent noticed any dents or scratches so far
price wise, its the barigain of the year...its even better then expencive Epiphones
i just got my j&d les paul yesterday the standard one mine sounds excellent and good quality!! yh theres a few paint dismarks but for its money its a good buy but always test your guitar before you buy!!
And i tested an J&D ST Rock ( Strat ) yesterday, the quality is really good! Except of the slit fot the pickup selector, but you can remove that with a finger, or a knife. But thats it! The rest is really good, and the sound... sounds really FAT to me, i would never expect that from a single coil! Good pickups, good quality, 80 bucks. I wanna sell my stuff and get one of those, with a fender frontman 25r. killer amp :)
