Absolutely ace hope John Simms isn't really killed off and come on Rose fans Martha was good too. Martha is more of a "Hired assistant" that Rose ever was, I think she suits the role perfectly!

Also Rose cried all the time, making her more emotional. However the only time Martha has cried is in Gridlock when they were singing. Not so emotional. Rose was all blubber blubber cry cry, but Martha is much more feisty and a much better actor. Also I hate Rose's voice. I know that the Time Lords can grant a new regeneration cycle if I remember correctly from The 5 Doctors. So it's quite possible that despite him being "destroyed" in the movie he found a way out (he is the master after all and rules mean nothing to him) he did something which the Council saw worthy to be given a new set of regenerations. Once he had them he could've used to chameleon arch in his tardis to escape the time war and survive
