  • WHERE was God when Adam and Eve ate that apple?

  • @vozuluzov

    Are you serious?

He was right there seeing it happen. knowing it would happen all along.

And he allowed it to happen because that's the point of this universe...

He wants to show his love but he cant display his love if there is not evil. You cant have light without darkness. He allowed it to happen to display the riches of his mercy and grace for scumbags who dont deserve it like you and me... Yet he pours out grace and love on you & I every day and we ignore it...

    Genesis 50:20

  • @LinkD3

The point of the universe is to glorify YHWH, not show His love.

You can have light without darkness, as darkness is the absence of light. You can have good without evil, as evil is the departing from the good. There was no evil before beings were made which could choose to depart from/rebel against YHWH, but He being all good still displayed goodness.

Adam and Eve made a choice. Without choice there is no love. You don't need evil, just the possibility of it.

  • At 2:53 Mr. Piper says "If we will have it" talking about salvation and heaven. I see this a contradiction of total depravity. If I am mistaken please correct me and please explain what he means

  • It is no contradiction to total depravity. TD is talking about man's nature, what Piper was talking about at 2:53 are they only two options which corrupted man has. Either he will be sent to Hell or he will be redeemed by Christ.

  • i can see how this video explains the atonement but not sure if its really clear on limited atonement...

  • I know what you are saying. Try to check out his mp3 version of this lecture. It is the full thing and is not cut or edited.

  • @Scottles293 agreed

  • @Scottles293 I'm with you - as clear as Piper usually is, I'm not able here to follow his connection between the atonement and particular redemption - am tempted to think this isn't the whole lecture, which makes the post title misleading.
