July 2006. The site is Panorama Vista facing NE off of Talimena Drive along the Winding Stair Mountain in SE Oklahoma (about 12 mi East of Talihina and Buffalo Mountain). First pilot is Mel Hair of Jenks, OK, launching and in-flight. Next is Jason Gray of Greenwood, AR, launching. Next is Don Kreger from around Dallas, TX, launching. Next is Roy Mahoney (me) launching the rigid wing (ATOS VX) and beginning a 20 mile flight upwind to Heavener, OK. Last is Mel Hair on the landing.
Thanks for the link Bruce. Say, I was not cognisant that there were Buffalo mountains in both Oklahoma and Australia. Is this that same spot down the road from Heartshorne, Oklahoma? Whoever shot the VidCap, thanks for the nostalgic retrip back to Buffalo Mt.
