My father was 'treated' to tickets for one of these performances at Covent Garden for his 18th birthday by his uncle and fell asleep for most of the 2nd act, waking up only at the point that the applause started as the curtain went down!! Until the day he died, the biggest regret in his life was that he had no memory of these wonderful scenes RIP Dad xxx
chaoscast: I hope we could! Only clips (or whole scenes, like this one) are available in several MC's compilation DVD's. Best years of hers, and her best Tosca ever in CG's shows. Just amazing, how lucky were those watchin' this events alive. Gobbi's Scarpia was just awesome, too

It's not that other sopranos are not terrific, it's just that when compared to this sfogatto assoluta, they are not in the same zip code.
