its not a telecaster on this page only used his telecaster on Led Zeppelin I and on the tairway to heaven solo. he used his les paul on this. and u can do the string bend on a les paul cause i have a les paul and i can do it.
ive played one of these for an hour or so maybe more and it was possibly the greatest guitar i have ever played. The neck was SUPER SLIM though and im used to my 58 neck but it was amazing
It's based on Jimmy's #1 which many historians belive was a 58 les paul. it had gold grover tuners. a very Page like humbucker
is the Dimarzio Super Distortion, Jimmy used this in the uncoverd bridge section from 72 to the present...now he uses the burstbuckers
and yes you can by them from gibson seperately. I still like the Dimarzio Better. and there about 100.00 bucks less than the burstbuckers. If you wanna sound like Page....practice it will help better then new pickups.
you realize that he actualy made his own les paul.its pritty much a black beauty with a whammy bar and 3 pick ups so you cant realy say this is his signature model, this one is more of les paul's gutiar.
ok youve awakened the keeper of all page lore. and he is angry. the stairway solo was on a tele. however the heartbreaker solo was on a les paul marshall combo, as most of the LZ2. A Les Paul Black Beauty(which was later stolen) and 100w marshals.
ok ok...lesson#1 page trivia. jimmy page got so wasted one time he climbed out of the window of a building 30 stories up and sat on an air conditioning unit and looked out over the city...failing to keep in mind that a stiff breeze could send him to his death.
"Page also disclosed to Guitar World that this song in general, and the a capella solo in particular, was the first recorded instance of his famous Gibson Les Paul/Marshall Stack combination" Do u know what ur talking about... obviously not... judging by your comment your probably some arrogant kid or an old guitar snob...
.....321beep321, Im neither an arrogant kid, nor guitar snob, I just know my facts about Led Zep, and it is well known to those that know about LZ that the solo to Stairway was recorded on a Tele. The main song was recorded at Headley Grange , but Page went back to Island studios in London to record the solo, which he did 2 takes,on a Fender Telecaster!! Do you know what you are talking about? Judging by your comment you are probably some arrogant twat.Know your stuff before starting an argument
atomphx, the Tele was a `58 given to Jimmy by Jeff Beck. In `67 Page had it painted in psychedelic colours and used on LZ1 and some early tours. He had a cream coloured Tele also, but I dont remember a blue Tele, but he did have a `76 Lake Placid Blue strat
Yeah, I remember reading about that many moons ago. The reason I thought it was a light blue, was an old B/W vid, I saw, with him playing the Tele, and guessed it was that color from that. Thanks for that info, appreciate that.
tbh this song sounds like shit.
im just saying he can play better than me but it gave me a headache of confusion

Telecaster.
notice the pitch bend about 10ish seconds in?
that's a string bend above the nut of a fender style guitar...try that with a les paul.
It's Page, But its not a les paul.
firstgearlead 3 years ago

Page was a genius in the studio...His playing was sloppy. Did you know the solo on Stairway to Heaven was done on a Telecaster...Not a Les Paul.
deepblue1963 4 years ago
But when he usually plays it its on the double necked EDS-1275
butt37 4 years ago
only live though.
the studio version was recorded on a 12-string acoustic, and yes a tele.
Dakota0708 4 years ago
Black Beauty is his signature - Gibson is doing a reissue right now.
