no. Mac OS does not offer this functionality for any application installed. Microsoft introduced real speech recognition with Windows 98 (or even Win 95, I'm not sure) as a seperate download and integrated into Office. Speech enabled applications have offered a control system for the user in that time. With Windows Vista the user can control any application and it is far more then this demo is showing.
the applications dont even need to be specially enables to work with speech, they only need to have actions that may be configured with apple script, something very common in Mac apps.
any action like PLAY, PAUSE, OPEN, NEXT, GO TO, etc may be connected to a default or custom command
I have vista and i try to do that but it dont work,i have i microphone but when i go in it shows only one line that says if you will learn more about speech recogntion....,any help???
is it possible to skip the " computer " part?

I'm going to steal your idea=)!! Brilliant!
One question, does background noise screw up recognition??
Just wondering before I invest tie time writing script, and teaching it...
Not club loud volume, but loud tv/movie/pc volume.....
