I wasn't a fan of Kobe back then because I thought he was a little arrogant. Of course, he changed a lot since then (both as a player and a person). The thing about Kobe is that, whether he fails or win, he's just not afraid to live in the moment. If he missed a last second shot, and was criticized for it, he would still take another 20 last second shots even if he misses them all.
And this started the most shittiest decade in NBA history. Where the referees had a high school crush on the Lakers and Spurs. The sad thing is, I was alive to witness utter bullcrap from the NBA. Thank goodness the Grizzlies and Mavericks put the Spurs and Lakers in their place this year.
Congrats Kobe. You got #58 on the 60 greatest playoff moments. Clutch? Please. Where are the iconic playoff winning shots and moments from him? To the Kobe lovers out there, I think Kobe is a top 6 or 7 player ever. I just don't like the clutch designation as I think he is not as clutch as Magic, Jordan, and Bird.
Kobe is the "clutch" player of my generation, Magic, Jordan, and Bird are ancient history. Go look up some more Kobe playoff moments, this 60 list is bullshit.
@romick431 that ancient history can AND HAS whooped up on Kobe and he has learned from them. Look up the playoff series where Kobe and Shaq faced Jordan and the bulls and see how the lakers got their tails handed to them. And also, didn't Kobe ask MJ on many occasions for tips and advice to better his game? Ancient history huh?
im just saying that I think the man is clutch. I never watched Bird or Magic. Jordan was amazing no doubt best ball player to ever live. BUT, Kobe never gets credit for all the big shots he has had in his career. Where are the iconic winning shots from him? Portland knows how clutch he can be, the suns know how clutch he can be, and thats just naming a few. And yea, bird, magic, and jordan are ancient history.
this moment at #58 and your imaginary big game moments of Kobe are not only ancient they are non existent. you're going to point to a break down play off a game winner v the Suns where they loss being up 3-1 int he series?
face young clueless basketball Laker dick licker. Your hero has no moments
never ever mention Kobe int he breath of MJ, Bird and Magic.he's not on the same Godly plane
Not a laker fan, but a kobe fan and you're a real tough guy behind your computer calling me a dick licker. My hero has no moments but has five rings and laundry list of other accolades, you're part of a group called HATERS that's all you are faggot!
@TheDirtball69 I know tons. I was brought up playin the sport. I just typoed. it was a regular season game and Kobe was still young, but they did play them. cool your jets
This is the mavericks year, they have been due for awhile. Dirk is playing out of his mind. So have your fun, you all know that LA will be back and they aren't going anywhere.
@romick431 what's, "due?" the only teams that want to be in the finals work towards making it to the finals. barea came up and tys was a great addition. the heat were favored since lbj's bright idea, but they still had to gel. as for the lakers, they had two old point guards and bandwagon journeymen that didn't want to break a sweat in a real playoff game(cough, barnes, smith and ratliff). the bulls aren't the '96 bulls, but maybe the '87 pistons. if the lakers will be back, reply next year.
@romick431 Kobe is definitely the "clutch" player of this generation. But if you think Magic, Bird and MJ are ancient history and this list is bullshit, then you obviously too young and never get to see the two greatest era of professional basketball in the 80's and 90's. I really do feel bad for young fans of this generation. It's cool to idolize Kobe (great player) and LeBron (LeBrick), too bad they will never get to witness the REAL king of the NBA, the one and only num. 23 -- His Airness.
The unfortunate thing is that had Kobe and Shaq been able to just coexist, they could have overtaken Jordan and Pippen as the most dominant 1-2 in league history.
@Dkouts57 What type of moronic reply is this? Kobe and Shaq won 3 titles, went to 4 finals. I'm saying had they had a better relationship, they could have stayed together longer and contend for more times. West and Chamberlain won only 1 title. Same goes to Alcindor and Robertson. Magic and Kareem won 5. Research NBA history before you reply. And learn how to spell their names as well, sir.
@StAndre2004 im pretty sure i piss out more basketball knowledge when i wake up and shake my dick then you have ingested in your lifetime. When you say Bird, Magic and Jordan are ancient history you show your a Laker newborn child who has never seen players prior to 2000.
Look at who Wilt and West played. Same for Big O and Lou. Then Kareem and Magic won 5 when all the teams were better than any of the teams the last 10 yrs that you have watched ball. Stop talking....you fuckin CHILD!
@Dkouts57 Dear, god, really? You arent even reading my responses. You're so amped on "winning." I never said anything about the competition back then. I didn't even say Shaq and Kobe are the best 1-2 tandem ever, because they clearly are not. I said, they had the potential, had they stuck it out together, to contend with some of the best 1-2 tandems ever, like MJ/Pippen, Magic/Kareem. And this is based soley on the number of titles they could have won.
See this clip is for all you asshole that say....Kobe needed Shaq. When it came to making the big plays it has always been Kobe. Shaq was the center of the offensive so of course he's going to get 3 Finals MVPs. If Jordan played with Shaq it would be the same story. Especially with Jordan cause he was a smarter player, so he would have had no problem averaging 20 10 a night with Shaq on his team. But Kobe carried this team in the most clutch moments period......
@zgodnijole but he needed pippen...if he didn't he wouldn't have lost in the first round a bunch of times then when he did get out of the first round he lost to detroit everytime...then pippen and phil come along and they win
you dont have a fuckin clue. theres a reason why Kobe's big playoff scoring games are with Shaq. Double Shaq Kobe open. you leave Jordan open or one on one he's putting up 40 on 15-20 shots. and i hate to tell you Jordan is playing 2nd fiddle never!
your argument is stupid because you're saying that Shaq is a greater player than Michael and no one on planet earth would say that
@sparksrojas01 what MVP? the MVP scrubbing up game 7? the MVP that Chris Paul deserved but they gave a life time achievement award to Kobe? the MVP on Courtney Lee covering him??? what MVP is this?
Miller takes like 4 steps to set up for his 3. He got more flagrant with that as his career went along I thought but the refs would give it to him because of his reputation or whatever. Kind of like Ewing getting away with the extra step on his patented move across the lane.
LISTEN ALL YOU KOBE HATERS, THIS IS MOMENT WHEN KOBE SHOWED HIS CLASS. ALL YOU SAY THAT KOBE COULDN'T WIN WITHOUT SHAQ, WELL THIS IS MOMENT THAT SHOWS THAT SHAQ COULDN'T WON WITHOUT KOBE. SHAQ COULDN'T WON WITHOUT WADE IN 2006 ALSO. MJ IS GREATEST, KOBE IS ALSO ONE OF THE GREATEST AND HE WAS NEVER A SIDEKICK LIKE LEBRICK TODAY. FUCK YOU ALL KOBE HATERS!!!
@kersme90 How can people not hate Kobe when he just dogs the crowd like he's god or something. Yes Kobe is great but people are free to hate him for whatever reasons.
By the way it's not just shaq that helped those teams but i remember robert horry and derek fisher helping a lot. Those lakers were saved by major clutch shooting.
@Dkouts57 When you look all of his matches in his career, then you can answer me for your opinion!!! The you can see that he was never a side kick!! Shaq didn't won anything until kobe developed his game!!
Those Pacer teams were great. Not as good as the earlier Indy teams from the mid/late 90's, but still damn good.
I also loved how even though everyone else thought the series was over after this game, Larry Bird guaranteed a game 5 win saying the series would go back to LA. Then, despite being down 3-1, the very next game after this video, the Pacers beat crap outta the Lakers by 30 points or so. Forget laying down soft, they came out and put a BEAT DOWN on LA. Pure heart from the Midwest!
@SinJackal Hey everybody, FTP "sinjacal" He's a major P. You best get out of my way because when I unload my putasos, you're going down, lil biatch!! yeah, you are runnin' scurred now biatch!!
@betomas What're you even talking about, moron? You won't do shit to anyone. You're just another net pussy who tries to act hard on the net because he can't do shit irl. Pathetic really.
And he did it on a bad ankle, too. He hit 3 straight shots in OT, he got them the 3-1 lead and basically the series. O'Neal was HORRIBLE from the FT line during those games, he shot 39% for the series, 18 for 39 in game 2, 3 for 13 in game 3, 3 for 12 in game 6. 1 for 6, 10 for 17 and 1 for 6 I believe. I still remember, he was killing with his scoring and the rebounds, but his FT shooting was wack. Kobe won this game for them though
@8joey you would reply to a comment i put up nearly 2 years ago.. btw this was clutch...this was a huge game for kobe to make his name.. he went from just a kid who airballed open clutch shots against utah to a game where he carried the lakers on his back without shaq so stfu
@elmolovescookies haha yeah i noticed that it was a very old comment after i pressed enter, thought i might have to wait 2 years for a reply. still wasn't clutch though, kobe should just be happy with the 2 rings he has and retire,
@8joey would magic have won without kareem? would kareem win without magic? no..they BOTH NEEDED each other equally.. every team has a duo.. the only player to ever win a ring by himself is Jim Brown for the Cleveland Browns in the early 60's.. other than that, everyone needs someone.. including kobe needing shaq, and shaq needing kobe and d-wade.

58? This should be in the 20-30 range. But for all the Kobe haters out there that said he can't do it without Shaq. Shaq can't do it without him either!
this kobe is still around, its just that this year remembe he had a torn ligament in his pinky,it changed his shot dramaticly,he had to change his game completly, trust me though, this kobe will be back after surgery
this should be wayy higher

Dirk had a better moment the other night v OKC 48 pts on 15 shots 24-24 FT
and Lebrons 48pt game 5 v the pistons DWARFS this over time performance big fuckin time!
paul pierce 41pts v Lebrons 45pts game 7!
Larry bird on the paces where he slammed his face on the court and came back 32 pts 9 reb 7 ast in 33 min!
Barkleys 44pts 24 reb game 7!
this is throwing Kobe a fuckin bone like they did with his lone MVP
Such shit list. you have shots as moments and then you have huge games as performance
