  • Speaking of long loading

  • GT5 has the best damage once you level up

  • damage=Simulation, you have it on cosmetic

  • What? The damage looks very realistic, I'll say, but no physical damage? Why have people been hating on GT5 for it's damage models if all that's missing is a few paint scratches? Can someone clear this up for me? I'm confused why the damage in Forza is hailed to be way, way, way better than GT5's! Fprza's looks better but it's not something seriously wrong with GT5 if this here is all that's missing.

    GT5 - Simulation Racer

FM - Arcade racer with realistic elements.

    DONT COMPARE THE TWO!

  • Looks good to me.

  • Lol, All I ask for is ONE Forza 3 or GT5 video where in the comments there not compared to eachother, A forza 3/GT5 Video Isn't made to get into a huge ass fight about which games better.

  • @ST4cKz0nD3cKk you are so fcking right!

i'm so sick about ppl arguing all the times which game is better,

if you thonk Forza 3 is better, you play that, keep it 4 urself

if you like gt5 more, play gt5

then everyone is happy, and no-one will bother you 4 playing ur game!

  • fuck simulation mode, try gran turismo 5 mode.

  • GT5 now has real time damage :D

    TAKE THAT MICROSOFT!

  • that'll buff out

  • loll at the 36 second load screen HAHAHA go llook at gt5 load times there way faster.

  • Since when do ferrari's have metal panels? Exotic super cars like these are generally composed of carbon fiber monocoque's...

  • Your fucking stupid. Car companies don't let their cars be beatin to shit. Besides this game is a racing game not a fucking demolishin derby game. You play to RACE not crash. The car companies not letting their cars be destroyed is the reason why Split Second uses fictional cars so they can beat the hell out of them however they want to.

  • @JLB101XD Totally agree, The Forza series was never about smash ups, in fact it used to annoy me how in most cases one small accident would remove any hope of first place. There are some great games out there for paying smash ups, stick to Forza for racing and keeping it on the track.

  • you idiot

everyone knows that ferrari's are made of diamonds. thats why they are so expensive

  • Comment removed

  • dude if u want to see physical damage in a game get dirt 2 or grid

  • The damage is pretty shit on Forza; a minor bump on the side of the car and that's it, the whole side of the car is scratched up and dented in, it's so dumb.

I tend not to crash though.

  • This is just the demo, anyway. None of the demo cars had physical damage if I recall.

  • well its stil better the GT5 where car dont brake ar all

  • 1) Learn to spell

    2) Yes, GT5 cars can take damage, certain cars, far more than Forza.

  • 1) NO GT5 dont have Damage if so send me a link to a video that show this

    2) lern to reserch before you talk

  • Have you been living under a fucking rock? v=VtkBkfTot_I

Theres a video with damage, FROM AUGUST 2009, it's been much improved since then as well

Again, learn to spell, you fucking tool.

  • Info from Polyphony Digital

"170 of them will be "premium" models that feature full interior modeling that is affected by vehicle damage"

Half finish game if you ask me THE reason i dint know abut this its because they add this after they Comfirm no Damage they add this in the last min to compet whit Forza3 yet only 170 cars will be affected sad VERY SAD :'(

  • Again, do more research before you talk.

There are full fledged race cars that will feature full cosmetic damage, all other cars will feature minor damage similar to Froza's car scratchs, and all cars can have the option of simulation damage. And it wasn't a last minute thing, considering that video was uploaded in August of last year. Just quit talking if you don't know any facts, fuck.

  • Marcos, please stop talking, your embarrassing yourself.

Damage has been confirmed for like 2 years now, and all that PD is saying is that all cars will have damage similar to forza 3, and non-production cars like race cars will have full damage (doors getting torn off).

So your making fun of PD for releasing a better game than Forza? Are you really that stupid?

  • Meaning that only 170 out of 1000 Cars on GT5 will have Damage

  • @marcos27pr

I'm done talking to you, clearly your being ignorant and stupid on purpose.

  • HAHAHAHA your telling people to research before talking?

If I were you I would follow my own advice.

    sad...

  • as a long time gt player, i find the damage model great, i'm not complaining.

  • dont you like forza 3 or not?????

    hes making fun of it

  • you see?? you were braking!!!!! duh???

  • 90mph won't do the effect

  • they do get physical damage it just hard you must bang a car several times before it get broken but its limites to bunper braking off

car companys dont allow actual phycal damage to the car

  • thanks for telling them that. i'm sick of people complaining about it.

  • ABS shouldn't be an assist

every car after 1965 has ABS as standard

  • in pgr 1 2 3 and 4 it has that and in FM3 it should have motorcycles like PGR4

  • car companies don't want their cars in a game to get damaged crazy or torned up. other driving sim would have about the same dam like forza. Games like gta4 and burnout have full dam because the cars don't exist, they designed it themselves to actual cars.

  • The damage is set to cosmetic ur noob

  • is this a burn copy of the game?

  • read the description

  • DAMN xbox takes an age to load!

  • his is probaly older mine goes 1-5 secs

  • At least learn how to crash!!!

  • @crankypsp LOLOLOLOLOL makes total sense dude :D

  • car companies didnt give permission to show their vehicles destroyed to a higher extent. simple as that.

  • have you ever played GRID?

  • come on people this guy is right do not down thumb him. car companies will charge the company more to use their cars in the game if it is 100% realistic (e.g. damage, wear & tear rate, appearence)

  • its just the way the game is designed its not made for purposely crashing

  • May be because you had it on easy? That might mean that they have less damage then so your car isn't -as-"fucked"...

  • Nope, its the game in general. There are forums all over the internet complaining about the shotty damage. It is funny how people argue this even after looking at video footage of the crappy damage system lol.

  • its not turn 10's problem. its the faggot car companies that don't want to show pixels being "damaged". go whine to them not turn 10.

  • @lethal1980 If you put damage on Simulation then your car will become less easy to drive and you'll notice other problems such as the car leaning to the right, terrible control and most importantly - loss of speed and acceleration. The problem is I don't think you can have simulation on a xbox live match.

  • @lethal1980 damage only cosmetic...

  • they should atleast have been able to make the cars damadge like in gta 4.

this damadge sucks ass. i was expecting damadge beter than gta4.

  • Get a life, guys! Stop trying to convince each other if the game is good or not. Each of us have different opinions, so live and let live! None of you need to post any of your criticising crap here...

  • just get grid if you want good damage but this game look amazing im getting it...

  • no offence "FORZA" fans, but... this game sucks swetty ball sacks, damage sucks ass, go in reverse and crash into a car, paint scratches only happen, same with need for speed shift, bumpers come off and hoods and in trailers the whole cars torn up to bits and even in demo but for ps3 they made it look like shit! they only focus on how realistic! but not the effect! i bought a game for $84 dollars so i can get rare cars and smash the hell out of it, but i get this bullshit?wow... still like NFS

  • It's people like you who are ruining these simulations. If you want to crash cars go play Burnout. Both Turn10 and PD shouldn't waste valuable resources appeasing people like you, who just want to run the cars into the wall. Neither company is going to give you real simulation damage because the processing power and programming required is simply too much. Wait till next generation before you get all bent out of shape.

  • Why the fuck did Turn10 leave out the option to turn off damage entirely!? Hitting cars is pretty much unavoidable in the game so you're telling me I have to just accept the fact that my cars are going to look like shit ALL the time???

For a game that focuses so much on the aesthetic of the real cars, to leave out this option is fucking dumb as shit. Thanks Turn10, you've nearly ruined this game for me.

  • So wait, let me get this straight, you say that Turn 10 has ruined a game by you not being able to not crash into the rest of the cars in a race? Wow, god help the person that goes driving in your car.

  • If you're trying to tell me it was a good idea to leave out the option to turn off visual damage entirely your an idiot. It's easy to program into a game and almost every other game has it. To simply not allow you the option is unforgivable and downright stupid. Maybe if the damage, which was a fucking marketing gimmick to begin with, didn't look like shit I wouldn't be complaining.

  • Don't get me wrong, everything else about this game is amazing, excluding the ridiculous contrast on the cars which they STILL haven't fixed even though this is their third go. Turn10 seriously needs some better artists...

  • umh.. damage dont change..? but use simulation dude.. :D

  • I've got the full game. Maybe there's no damagae because you put it on "cosmetic"? that's a no brainer I would have thought. In the full game there is a higher option that lets you damage your engine axle, etc

  • lmfao! A no brainer knowing that cosmetic shows all PHYSICAL damage. I thought that was a no brainer........

  • Listen, don't try to defend yourself. You were wrong, and it ends there. Don't try to make it look like you were right, it looks pathetic. No one cares if you got it wrong, don't be ignorant.

  • You are such a retard.......Put the game on simulation is how the car handles after the damage you damn idiot. Cosmetic is physical appearance. You are such a damn noob.

  • Cosmetic is just Physical. Simulation (and whatever else it says) is Everything. Performance and Physical. Don't call me a dumbass over a game, because you're just sounding ridiculous.

  • Cosmetic doesn't show body damage, just paint. Hence the word "Cosmetic" the only thing that matters damage wise is performance damage, and Forza has covered that extremely well.

  • wrong, cosmetic, means damage but no damage to the way the car drives...

I just played this game expecting big things, and i am easily pleased!

What a dissapointment, ive been in many car crashes, and i tell you my car never comes away with some paint damage, utterly pathetic realism.

and the sound when u hit a wall...wtf??? sounds like bumper bowling.

the game is a peice of shit

  • See, just like murdock said. Does it really matter what the damage looks like? You don't play games such as Forza OR GT to crash cars. As long as it has good cars, graphics and good gameplay its a good game. A game isn't a piece of shit just because you think the PHYSICAL damage is crap. Does it matter? You don't even see ur car when ur driving anyway. Just relax, you're blowing it all out of proportion. the way u r acting makes me think that u r a bias fanboy.

  • actually you are right about it, i guess i was pissed because of the hype, im not a fanboy tho, in fact my PS3 isnt even plugged in.

might give the game another shot

  • See this is the best bit. When two people resolve a dispute and learn to respect eachother's views. It's ashame not much can be said about other people *cough* lethal *cough*

  • And btw. There was SOME body damage evident here. Cosmetic IS body damage aswell, but not as much as simulation. Simulation is the full package, INLUDING performance damage which is THE MOST IMPORTANT type of damage.

  • God damn you sound stupid. I am not even going to respond to your comments anymore.

  • How do I sound stupid? Please enlighten me.

Is it because my argument is valid? and the only thing oyu can ocme up with, in your defense, is that I'm the stupid one? If I were so stupid, then why are you not replying (directly) to my comment? Is it because I'm right? And you want to end the 'argument'?

  • K24, nothing you say is valid. For instance.......Look when I barely bump the wall. Now look at all the scratches on the hood. Where the hell did those come from? You do not even know the difference between cosmetic and simulation lol.

  • Lol Simulation is Physical damage as well. Simulation involves every bit of damage you can receive (physical and performance)

Cosmetic is mild damage but no performance damage. I think I know, I actually have the game and enjoy playing it, so my comments aren't as bias as yours.

I don't care what happens when you "barely bump" the wall. I'm not the creator of the game. I'm just trying to explain to you the difference between "Simulation" and "Cosmetic".

  • Jeez, I don't know what's so hard for you to understand. I've said it so many times. I don't care if you made a mistake because you didn't know what "Cosmetic" meant. No one cares, stop being so defensive about it, just accept it and leave it alone.

  • You just amuse me because you are dead wrong lol. There are thousands of sites of people complaining about the damage and you think that simulation will show more cosmetic damage lol. It is funny how stupid people can be and that you actually convinced yourself that you are correct.

  • Lol ok.

If I'm wrong, then please explain to me what cosmetic is and what simulation is. All you keep saying is that Im "dead wrong", why don't you tell me why I am wrong?

Once again I repeat: "I don't care what happens when you "barely bump" the wall. I'm not the creator of the game. I'm just trying to explain to you the difference between "Simulation" and "Cosmetic"."

  • Didn't I already tell you to learn to read first? I know that the damage is lacking compared to other games, that is not my concern. I'm just trying to explain to you what the difference between "Cosmetic" and Simulation" is, because you seem to be a little confused. Maybe if you weren't so stuck up and in denial, you would understand. You sound pathetic, whining to me like I produced the game. I couldn't care less what the damage was like.

  • Ummm, actually.....you tried telling me that changing the game to simulation would produce more cosmetic damage. This entire time myself and others have been telling you that simulation has nothing to do with cosmetic damage. And this entire youtube video is about the cosmetic damage lacking. Welcom to the topic of this video.....

  • The damage is lacking in the game that you played because the setting is on "Cosmetic" That is not how the real damage is in the game.

what happened to explaining what the difference is between "Cosmetic" and "Simulation"?

This video isn't about the *cosmetic* damage lacking. It's about you thinking that the damage is lacking in the game, even tohugh you didn't know what "cosmetic" damage was.

Welcom(e) to the topic of this video...(..)

  • Cosmetic damage - All the visual damage

Simulation damage - All the visual damage + Mechanical damage.

He just wants his car to appear smashed up, not to perform it and so he is just critizing the visual damage and how flying into a wall results in scuffs and slightly misshapen bumpers.

JEEZ WAS THAT SO BLOODY HARD!?

  • Wow, I don't even remember my argument... Way to go. I don't even play this game anymore. Haven't played it for some time. My comment isn't even on the first page of the comments section

"Cosmetic is mild damage but no performance damage. I think I know, I actually have the game and enjoy playing it, so my comments aren't as bias as yours."

I just explained what you explained, so back off.

  • HA "back off"

Considering how much you defended the game saying you don't play it anymore after 2 months makes you seem like a fanboy who just defended it as its for your console. sorry, now im kinda just picking a fight but thats the impression i got.

But no, you were blaming him saying that the damage wasn't good because it was on Cosmetic so the car didnt appear smashed up & he was saying that they only damage he wanted was visual..ah fack it, i dont care & i dont think you do either

  • I don't play racing games to mindlessly smash cars into walls and then feel some sense of fulfilment.

  • Cosmetic = Paint and MILD body damage

Simulation = Paint, Full body damage, full performance damage.

How many time will I have to repeat?

There was SOME body damage evident on your car.

But hell, what do I care. I like Forza, awesome game, i'll just go back to racing while you fume over the lack of damage. Have fun! I know I will ;)

  • Simulation means under the body.......steering, tire wear, etc..... I need a face palm smiley right now.

  • Simulation (and whatever else follows) is everything.

In the season play. When you put chrash damage on "simulation" (the last option) it is ever bit of damage you can receive.

  • This seems about right. Cosmetic is on, and mild damage is evident. Don't know what you are ocmplaining about.

  • dude..the game is alright...okay..i like it...but even i can say the damage is fucking retarded........i mean the cosmetic damage......because i have hit a wall head on...and sure....im unable tyo continue...but sometimes...all i see is a few scratches on the hood...IF THAT...but the gameplay is good. but IMO......the game was "OVER-Hyped"

  • I think the damage isn't at all that bad. It's not that scripted, as you recieve damage only in the placed you get hit. I agree though that sometimes you only get scratches, but you can't expect a game, in today's times, to hold so much reality. Its not like we are so advanced that we can rpelicate real life so easily. You shouldn't have such high expectations.

  • well..i mean..i realize that...but look at dirt's damage.........i cant believe turn10 isnt capable of doing that.

  • Turn 10 put its focus, and the console's capability, into the graphics and gameplay/realism. The game is a HUGE game memory wise. The disc just won't have enough room for everything you want in a racing game. On the other hand Dirt really focused on the damage, and they nailed it pretty well for a game made in these days.

  • i have the game

  • you are such a fucking FAG turn damage to simulation you dumbface, when the damage is on cosmetic all you can do is get some scratches, fuck these people are stupid

  • Forza 2s damage sent bumpers soaring through the air, WTF happened to Forza 3?

  • i think they have better damage in forza 2 then this haha

  • you are so fucking stupid, he turned damage to cosmetic, instead of simulation, the damage is like the word says COSMETIC

  • why the fuck don't you think a bit before you respond to people's comments acting like a fucking schmuck

of course its only cosmetic damage

in forza 2 bumper's flew off and the body do deformed from the crashes

now all that gets messed up is the paint

so stop acting like a retard and making assumptions before you even know what going on

  • you can turn damage to simulation, so that the damage is more realistic, than the bumpers will fly of your engine will overheat, the gearbox will break down and windows will fly out, so if you want to see some real damage download the forza 3 demo, set damage to simulation and see it for yourself

  • i did but the cosmetic damage stays the same only on the other cars does it get more realistic

  • lol i don't what version you have of Forza 3 but my LMCE has some excellent damage :P

  • i have the demo

  • well there you go...

  • so the damage is better in the full game?

  • yes, mostly, but you don't really notice, because when you are racing you never get some serious damage except, some scraped paint, you really have to try to some serious damage, by hitting a wall with 236 MPH (400 KPH) with a Bugatti Veyron XD

  • you say the game has excelent damage, and i say the game doesnt have realistic simulation damage, fool, learn what im talking about before you reply, and most of the damage is small tiny dents even if you go 70MPH and hit another car, flip over, and slam into the rail

  • the does have simulation damage actually, when you rev to high your engine will blow, and if you shift wrong when using manual with clutch, you will break your gearbox and if you race an endurance race and don't go to the pits to change your tires your tires will come off.

  • in GT 3&4 (5 Prolouge) there were pit section in which you drive into to fix up your car but it took time to fix it and most of the time you would be in 3 or 4th place if you were in first

  • o god, you really don't have Forza 3 don't you, forza 3 has pits aswell, and if you drive an endurance race, you are going to need them, after a little while you will need to or repair engine damage and swap tires, and even the AI goes into the pits for new tires, you will be in last place when you go into the pits, but after a while, the AI will need to do a pit stop aswell

  • i forgot to say that the full game, also has internal damage, when you turn shifting to manual, and you rev it to max in a car with no rev-limiter, you will blow up the engine, and shifting without using the clutch will slowly break the clutch

  • gta 4 and nfs shift = best damage

  • u try to make a car simulation game with licensed cars with the awsome damage u expect!!!!!

  • "licensed cars", thats sad, manufacturers want games to use their cars in them, including damage, like GT 5, which is realistic damage, so anyone who drives the car and likes it might buy it

  • lol you really have to shut up because you don't even have the full game, or do you?, the damage is very realistic in the full game, and i know it because GOT THE FULL GAME

  • wow, you really need to learn, i ahve the full game btw, and the damage only applies to SOME of the cars dumbass, and i played the GT 5 demo at E3, and the damage on GT 5 is realistic, not on forza, and burnout has realistic damage

  • i don't know what kind of version you have of forza 3, but all the cars i have tested so far have excellent damage, so tell me which cars have no damage

  • haha, nice

  • i carnt waittill forza 3 comes out. BUT and its a big but why carnt they make the damage in the game realistic?

i know when i say this ome of you are goin to say im wrong but i think ONE of the best games ive played for damage is grand theft auto. not 100% realstic i know but at least their trying in that game.

thats what i think any way

  • NO! burnout paradise!!!!!!!!

  • damage in this game looks so.. heh... it just dosnt look like damage.. looks like a all cars in Forza 3 are batmobile indestructible models :D

  • No cosmetic means whole body damage, Simulation just means engine, chassis, steering etc. damage. Forza 3 just has shitty crashing.

  • I hate people who bash demos. Turn 10 tried to keep the demo as simple as possible, its not the final game!

  • N o no I'm not bashing it. I love Forza 3 and Forza 2 and I'm definatly buying it. I just think compared to what it could be (hint hint: Race driver Grid) it's not amazing.. Thats all..

  • GRID? that game is fucking arcade all the way. you cant compare grid and forza. its just not possible. forza is 10 times better.

  • I KNOW! iIM COMPARING THE CRASHING! not the whole game. I knoe Forza's better.

  • i always thought this is a problam with forza but i watched some reveiws and the damage looks a lot better

  • dude it's because it's on COSMETIC.....which basically refers to "paint damage"....

morons think this game doesn't have realistic damage....

    This vid is misleading

  • Maybe small damage reason is only cosmetic damage?

  • lol @ loading times.

  • I was really hoping the damage would be better than this.. it looks the same as forza2! If the damage was anything like GTA IV i would be more than happy.. and everyone... Cosmetic and Simulation have THE SAME VISUAL DAMAGE!

  • You put the damage on cosmetic and not simulation..

  • Ya man I know this. Cosmetic should show all physical damage. Simulation looks the same. The damage sucks in the game.

  • and this damage is real? crazy fat monkey flop box fanboys... GROW UP!

  • what a dumbass forza3 has damage put simulation and hit the wall at about 114mph and see if your car gets no damage i bet you'll flip over

  • Pick the same car as the one I used. The damage is only paint scratches. Cosmetic shows all the physical damage still you dipshit.

  • Final Fantasy 8, hell yea!

  • You do know what cosmetic means right?change it to simulation

  • Ummm ya. Use the same car as the one in the video and you will see the same results. You know simulation means like tire wear and engine right? Cosmetic means it shows all the physical damage....

  • are you saying that theres not enough cosmetic damage?

  • Exactly. If I drive in to a wall at 75mph, there is going to be more than just paint damage. Fenders should fall off, bumper should fall off right away. The video clearly shows the damage sucks.

  • i agree, forza 2 had some pretty cool damage physics, im sure its just cuz of the demo.

  • Which is why I believe that damage does not better a driving game; it just adds a pointless feature to captivate those who don't even like racing games, and bring about pointless flame-wars not even associated with the purpose of the game in mind; DRIVING.

Forza and GT5 should ditch damage all together..

  • But when there is a damage SYSTEM which makes you drive more poorly they should have a designated damage physics system. Why should my car lean to the right because I scratched some paint from my car? Yeah. Oh and bye the way, the nice makers of this game promised REALISTIC DAMAGE. Now how realistic is it to lose paint on your hood if you tap a car in front of you at 5 miles per hour?

  • @remix91742, Damage is an important component to driving games.

Drivers need to have the understanding that there are CONSEQUENCES (damage/crash) to driving mishaps. Car trouble can manifest from reckless driving including under-the-hood issues and tire wear. The need to fix vehicles using GT/Forza credits will create better drivers. It ultimately gives the user a better overall driving EXPERIENCE.

  • @remix91742, Lack of CONSEQUENCES (damage/crash) reinforces the idea that all out aggressive driving is proper. Users would be more cautious knowing that reckless driving isnt key to success.

  • Damage = realism. I want a real driving simulator. Why put half assed damage in the game? Do it right or do not do it at all.

  • Exactly, since there technically isn't "REALISTIC" damage in both GT5 or FM3, then there isn't much realism at all since its a supposedly crucial element to the entire "simulation" experience.

See, looking at damage in retrospect on a video game and making it physically real; your aiming really high. So as I said earlier, Damage in a video game is no more than a gimick/pointless feature, so why add it? They should do what GT5p did, add speed penalties for reckless driving, End of Story.

  • Wait till GT5 releases before talking about the damage in the game.

  • this basically proves how halfassed Turn 10 is. they wasted 2 years. What do you get?

    -Worse Damage!

  • you are so fucking stupid, he turned damage to cosmetic, instead of simulation, the damage is like the word says COSMETIC

  • and your a retard, the cosmetic damage and realistic damage varies by cars, and that means the game didn't put alot of effort to adding damage like in Forza 2

  • EXACTLY, GT5 has damage in its simulator, as in actual damage, not fake paint scratches, and that is GT5 PROLOGE** Hint, and i've already played the game at E3 09

  • it obly has damage on about a thjird of the cars due to licensing issues! wtf`? if u have damage, have it on all cars like forza!

  • Need For Speed Shift was released before and all cars have REALISTIC damage, not just paint scratches, and the damage in the game is a fail, you hit a wall going over 60 MPH and only get a tiny lil dent or scratch

  • hey dude and the guy in this vid also presses brake so he wont get damage watch the vid again

  • Its only demo...

Loads is cumin up in full FM3

  • Sure hope so, because this demo is garbage.

  • Im a bit dissapointed 2...

I dont like da cotpits view... I hope they gonna add something like seat regulations so i can see all the gauges...

its pissin me off that they wasted loads of money d just make one camera inside...

Nd that u canot rotate camera in da car...

    Comon Turn 10!!!

  • You can rotate camera in car, push the right stick forward first.

  • Sorry man... I cant call that rotation...

I wish the camreas were like in GT5P...

Its to clese to the weel nd i wish u coudl see all over inside of the cars...

    comon turn 10 i belive in u!!!

  • Cockpit camera should be like NFS Shift, you really feel the speed and turns. Those are the best.

  • fuck NFS...
